The UFC announced that former WEC champion Eddie Wineland had to pull out of his bout with Johnny Bedford due to an injury a few days ago. The UFC website is now reporting that UFC newcomer and Canadian bantamweight Mitch Gagnon will replace Wineland on the UFC on FOX 2 card and face Bedford on January 28th, in Chicago.

Gagnon (8-1) has won his past six fights with all of his wins coming via submission. Gagnon has fought exclusively in Canada with this fight in Chicago being his first bout outside of his native country.

Bedford (18-9-1) just got his first official win at the TUF 14 Finale where he dominated Louis Gaudinot after competing on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. Bedford has won seven of his last eight bouts dating back to 2009.
