UFC Heavyweight Championship

Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos

Well here we go folks, a fight that could change the future of MMA forever. The production is one of the thing all the hardcore fans are interested in seeing, in addition to the fight itself of course. This is weird. Dana White is sitting at a commentator’s desk as the show starts talking with another analyst we have never seen in the UFC before and White is talking about both heavyweights and why this was the fight to put on in the first show on FOX.  Brock will join them next as they cut to a Bud Light commercial. — Just saw our first ad for the UFC 139 pay -per-view.

Round 1 – Here we go friends. How far will it go? Big John is appropriately refereeing. Cain with a leg kick to start. Nice right by Junior. Inside leg kick from Cain. Front kick from Junior, Cain shoots, stuffed. Leg kick from Cain. Left hook. Right from Cain, leg kick. Huge right hand from Junior catches Cain on the back of the head, he goes down. I must also point out my fellow staff writer Josh Cross also picked Junior to win this fight.

Now the question is what kind of impression will this short short fight leave on all the new viewers tuning into the UFC for the first time? Wouldn’t it be nice to have Guida vs. Henderson and the amazing war to show now? Well, let’s see how they fill the time before we judge.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Junior Dos Santos def. Cain Velasquez by knockout (punches) Rd 1 (1:04)

Junior said afterward he was not 100% and was scared. You would never hear that from a lot of fighters especially in some other sports…. Cain says he will be back. Said his equilibrium was messed up and he waited too long to attack.
