Carlos Condit is going to have to wait awhile longer for his title shot against UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

The two were scheduled to face off next weekend in the UFC 137 main event in Las Vegas, but UFC President Dana White announced just moments ago via Twitter that St-Pierre suffered a knee injury in training and will not be able to compete on the Oct. 29 card.

White via Twitter:

“I just land in NYC and what do I always say!? I have to deal with bad [expletive] everyday!! GSP is out with an injury!!! #oneofthosedays … It’s GSP’S knee. We will sit Carlos to wait for GSP. It’s looking so far like he could be ready in a couple months. Still early to tell tho”

The scheduled co-main event between former champions B.J. Penn and Nick Diaz will now serve as the main event according to White.

For those who may be out of the loop, Diaz was originally slated to face St-Pierre for the title after he vacated his own Strikeforce welterweight belt to come to the UFC. But after failing to appear at press conferences two days in a row that were meant to promote the event, he was pulled from the bout.

That is when Condit, who was scheduled to fight Penn in the co-headliner, was moved to the main event to take Diaz’s spot against St-Pierre, and Diaz was matched against Penn.
