ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) reporter Joe Gugelman caught up with UFC vet Josh Neer (31-10-1) following his first round TKO win over Blas Avena (7-5) in the Superior Cage Combat 2 main event this past weekend in Las Vegas.

Neer said he felt like Avena broke in the fight and the fight turned out to be a lot easier than he thought it was going to be.

After being released from the UFC last year Neer has won six of his last seven bouts and is riding a four fight win streak. He said he has been working on his wrestling and has made some changes in his game.

Neer discussed what lies ahead, and in fact, he has another fight already scheduled against Brazilian Romario Manoel da Silva (18-9-1) at Shark Fights 19 on Sept. 10 in Missouri.

Neer also mentioned a few losses he would ideally like to avenge, namely against Kurt Pellegrino, Gleison Tibau and his most recent loss, Eddie Alvarez. However, because those guys fight at 155-pounds,. Neer said those rematches probably will not happen as the weight cut is too much for him these days.

At 170, Neer said he always wanted to fight Chris Lytle. Finally, Neer gave his thoughts and prediction on the upcoming UFC welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz.
