Reports emerged earlier this week that the UFC was headed to FOX and FX in 2012. Spike TV seems to be getting out in front of today’s UFC press conference by releasing the following statement:

“The Ultimate Fighter” season 14 in September will be our last. We are increasing our commitment to distinctive, original series that we own such as “Auction Hunters” and “Bar Rescue” which are delivering on our goal to reach a broader audience. Our 6-year partnership with the UFC has been incredibly beneficial in building both our brands, and we wish them all the best in the future.

  1. Well…this statement seems that they split somewhat amicably…watch out for SF on Spike!(ok..in our wildest dreams..but that would be cool)

  2. I dunno Kelvin, that rumour was being spread around last week. Definitely could happen.

I think we end up seeing Bellator there though.

    End of an era…

  3. Anyone else smell the demise of Spike? 1000 Ways to Die and 8-year-old episodes of CSI aren’t gonna carry that thing forever!

  4. yeah mike, their programming is going down. DEA is pretty good… I can’t think of anything else on there I enjoy right now. 1,000 ways to die is completely for stoners – that’s the only way someone could watch that show regularly — but for them it’s probably the best show ever created.
