TUF 7 alum Matt Riddle (5-2) will welcome undefeated UFC newcomer Lance Benoist (5-0) to the Octagon on Sept. 17 when UFC Fight Night 25 comes to Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

UFC President Dana White confirmed Monday the two welterweights had verbally agreed to the bout.

Riddle has fought his entire pro career with the UFC. He went 2-1 in 2010, most recently losing a unanimous decision against Sean Pierson at UFC 124 this past December.

Benoist is a Missouri native and has finished all five of his pro bouts in the first round; four by submission, one via head kick knockout. He signed a four-fight deal with the UFC in June.

Benoist’s most recent fight took place in April when he submitted Ryne Vincent via triangle choke (2:56 of round 1) at Capital City Cage Wars in St. Louis.

UFC Fight Night 25 will featured a middleweight main event between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger. Check ProMMAnow.com’s Upcoming Events page for the full line-up.
