UFC President Dana White has confirmed an Oct. 8 match-up between heavyweights Dave “Pee Wee” Herman and Mike Russow at UFC 136 in Houston.

Herman (21-2), representing Team Quest in Temecula, Calif., earned himself a nice “Fight of the Night” $75,000 bonus with his second round TKO win over Jon Olav Einemo at UFC 131 in June.

It was Herman’s third straight victory since losing via disqualification to Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in May 2010 in Abu Dhabi (ADFC).

Russow (14-1), a Team Death Clutch fighter, is currently on a 10-fight win streak and is undefeated (3-0) inside the UFC.

He fought once in 2009, scoring a decision win over Justin McCully at UFC 102, and he fought once in 2010, scoring a memorable “Knockout of the Night” over Todd Duffee at UFC 114.

Russow’s most recent bout was a second round TKO win over Jon Madsen at UFC Fight Night 24 in March.

Although no main event has yet been confirmed for UFC 136, a light heavyweight match-up between Brian Stann vs. Chael Sonnen, and a featherweight match-up between Josh Grispi vs. Matt Grice has been announced.
