The UFC 133 card, scheduled for Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center In Philadelphia, has taken yet another hit. Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Swedish light heavyweight Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson.

Stepping in for the injured Russian will be fellow wrestler Matt “The Hammer” Hamill. UFC President Dana White confirmed Thursday evening that verbal agreements were in place for the bout.

Hamill (10-3) had been on a five fight win streak prior to losing a unanimous decision to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the UFC 130 main event in May.

Gustafsson (11-1), 24, is ten years younger than Hamill. Since making his UFC debut in Nov. 2009, “The Mauler” has gone 3-1 inside the Octagon, most recently winning a first round submission over James Te-Huna at UFC 127 in February.

Hamill vs. Gustafsson will be part of the Spike TV televised prelims, airing LIVE starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. To see the complete UFC 133 fight card line-up refer to ProMMAnow.com’s Upcoming Events page.
