In today’s MMA world some fights just do not materialize. Now, Donald Cerrone will take on Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira at UFC Live 5. The event, which takes place Aug. 14 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, will mark the first ever UFC event in the state of Wisconsin.

The original bout featured John Makdessi taking on British banger Paul Taylor. However, Makdessi was quickly replaced with Cerrone after an injury. Now, Taylor has also fallen victim to an undisclosed injury and Oliveira has been brought in.

“do Bronx” burst onto the scene with two-straight submission victories to start his UFC career. He easily caught Darren Elkins in an armbar in only 41 seconds. In his next fight, he submitted TUF winner Efrain Escudero with a rear-naked choke in the third round. At UFC 124, Jim Miller handed Oliveira his first career defeat, breaking a 14-fight streak. His only action since then has been a fight with Nik Lentz that was a declared a “no contest” after the fact.

Cerrone was one the brightest stars in the WEC‘s lightweight division. He went 6-3 in the promotion with all three of his losses coming in title fights. Since moving to the UFC, he has scored victories over Paul Kelly and Vagner Rocha.

Headlining UFC Live 5 is a welterweight contest between contenders Chris Lytle and Dan Hardy. The main card will air live on the Versus network.
