Tony Ferguson wasted little time setting a return date. After winning the 13th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Ferguson will not face Aaron Riley this fall. The contest will be part of UFC 135, which takes place Sept. 24 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Ferguson defeated Ramsey Nijem via first-round knockout at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale to claim the reality show’s title and “Knockout of the Night.” On the show, Ferguson defeated Justin Edwards, Ryan McGillivray and Chuck O’Neil to reach the finals. His professional record stands at 11-2. He won three-straight fights before competing on the reality show.

Riley is a true veteran of the sport. He had his first documented fight in 1997. He made his UFC debut back at UFC 37 in 2002. Over the course of his career, he has fought some of the best lightweights and welterweights in the sport including Eddie Alvarez, Chris Lytle and Yves Edwards. In his last fight, Riley scored a unanimous-decision victory over Joe Brammer at UFC 114.

A UFC light heavyweight title fight headlines UFC 135. Champion Jon Jones will defend his belt against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
