– Friday, June 24, 2011 9:00pm ET featuring EL Paso Superfight III at the Don Haskins Arena, El Paso, TX. undefeated heavyweight hopeful David ‘Nino’ Rodriguez (34-0, 32 KOs) has agreed to fight former WBA Fedelatin Champion Owen Beck (29-7-20 KOs) for the WBC Mexican national heavyweight championship belt. Promoter Ramirez said ‘I feel this is David’s toughest fight to date. Beck can do it all he can box, punch and has the experience to cause David some problems. Make no mistake this is David’s time to shine and he needs to prove he belongs with the top heavyweights of the World. I know this sounds cliche, but Beck is definitely a ‘real’ gate keeper. If David can’t beat Beck then he can’t compete with the elite.’ The co-main event will feature WBC #9 World ranked Middleweight David Gatti of the Rockies. Medina (22-2-11ko). Medina will face Bloomfield’s Joseph Gomez (16-3, 11 KOs). This is turning into a battle of words, but the talking will stop come fight night. The tough Gomez was asked how he thought the fight would end and replied, “No Colorado fighter will ever beat a New Mexico warrior.”
