VANCOUVER, British Columbia – UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin takes place this evening at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Top heavyweight contenders Shane Carwin and Junior dos Santos will square off in the main event in a title eliminator with the winner earning a shot against champion Cain Velasquez.

Dave “Pee Wee” Herman will make his long-awaited UFC debut on this card against Golden Glory submission expert Jon Olav Einemo, and Kenny Florian will make his featherweight debut against Diego Nunes.

UFC 131’s main card will broadcast LIVE on Pay-Per-View starting at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

At 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT Spike TV will air two preliminary card bouts LIVE.

Darren Elkins vs. Michihiro Omigawa

Round 1 – Elkins throws a few combos but can’t find his range. Lands a right. Omigawa counters with a left. Again. Omigawa lands a couple more shots, has his hands low Mr. Rogan points out. Nice left from Omigawa, then a right. Elkins scores with a right. Again. All boxing so far. Elkins scores again with a combo. Right hand from Elkins. Elkins puts him on his back, Omigawa grabs a leg but Elkins is out and up. One two from Elkins. One two from Elkins. Less than a minute to go in the round. Left hand from Elkins. One two from Omigawa and Elkins returns with his own combo and a left hook. Right hand from Elkins following a scramble. I have the round for Elkins 10-9.

Round 2 – Omigawa stalking and lands a nice combo. Nice double jab from Elkins, then a right. Another right. One two from Elkins. Another one two. He is cut over his right eye. Leg kick from Omigawa – first of the fight. Elkins lands a combo. Omigawa shoots, tries a sweep, no dice.. They exchange a few shots. Two minutes left in the round. Nice left hook from Omigawa. Nice left from Omigawa. Nice shots from Elkins scores and puts Omigawa in retreat mode for a few seconds. Nice left from Elkins. He swings big and misses. Elkins shoots, but Omigawa counters with a punch and backs out. In spite of Rogan’s praise of Omigawa, I give the round to Elkins 10-9.

Round 3 – Left jab from Omigawa. He ducks under Eklins’ boxing and puts him on his back, but Elkins catches Omigawa’s head in a guillotine. Omigawa escapes and starts punishing from inside Elkins’ guard with short elbows and punches. He lands one nice big punch. Elkins looks for a triangle, they scramble back to the feet. Elkins’ face is a bloody mess. Right hand from Elkins. Again. Elkins swings big, twice, and Omigawa slips them both. One two from Elkins scores. Again. Nice left from Omigawa. Omigawa switching stances back and forth often during this fight, could be quite confusing for Elkins. Right hand from Elkins. Left jab from Omigawa. I score the last round 10-9 for Omigawa, but score the fight 29-28 for Elkins.

NOTE: The decision roused “boos” from the crowd and Rogan said “Wow”, obviously disagreeing with the decision. I thought Elkins won two rounds to one.

Aaron Rosa vs. Joey Beltran

Round 1 – Two left jabs from Beltran. Clinch, knees to the thighs from Beltran. Beltran attacks with several left hands as Rosa backs out of the clinch. They clinch up again, Beltran pushing him against the cage. Big right from Beltran, clinch, another right. They both start swinging and connecting — nice exchange with both guys landing some solid shots. They separate and square up again. One two from Rosa and Beltran lands a nice counter. Nice right from Beltran, inside leg kick. Counter right from Rosa. Leg kick from Beltran. Less than a minute to go in the round. Body shots from the clinch and a couple elbows from Beltran. Beltran with a body lock, pushing Rosa gainst the cage. Body shots from Beltran, then they start swinging away again with both guys landing. Beltran probably got the best of the exchange. I score it 10-9 for Beltran.

Round 2 – Left hook from Rosa. Again. Inside leg kick from Beltran. Again. One two from Rosa. Double jab from Beltran, leg kick. Again. Beltran connects with a couple big rights. Clinch, body shots from Beltran. Knee to the thigh from Beltran, again. Clinch, knees from both guys. Rosa connects big with a couple punches. Leg kick from Beltran. Nice knee from Rosa, right hand and Beltran counters with a combo. Beltran lands a low blow knee right to the groin and Rosa drops to his knees. On replay, he actually took another knee to the head as well. Horrible. Rosa is okay apparently and is back up on his feet. Touch gloves. Big leg kick from Rosa. Front kick. Leg kick checked by Beltran. Rosa catches him with a punch, they start exchanging and Rosa lands a low knee that halts the action. Leg kick from Beltran, Rosa counters with a left hook, then an uppercut as Beltran initiates the clinch. Beltran puts him against the cage, they start throwing leather, Beltran lands a nice right. Pushes Rosa against the cage, body shots and they throw a late exchange after the bell. I score it 10-9 for Beltran.

Round 3 – Nice right and a one two from Rosa. Left jab from Beltran, leg kick. One two from Rosa, he shoots, stuffed. Clinch, uppercut from Beltran. Big right from Rosa. Rosa goes to one knee after Beltran lands a big knee and forces him down. Beltran tries to finish with several punches. Rosa makes it to his feet but Beltran stays on him with punches, then takes him down and pounds him out from side control. Great finish for The Mexicutioner.

Dustin Poirier vs. Jason Young

Round 1 – Left from Young. They exchange leg kicks but Poirier attacks with several punches, then gets the takedown. Young going for a kimura, loses it. Gets back to his feet pushes Poirier against the cage. Body shots from Young. Knee to the gut. Poirier reverses position, then Young reverses and they exchange punches. Head kick from Young, leg kick. Right hand from Young. Leg kick from Poirier. Jumping round kick from Young. Poirier with a leg kick, and a head kick that’s blocked. Body kick from Poirier. Knee to the body from Young. Poirier fires back but Poirier catches him with a couple big punches. Left hand from Poirier. Inside leg kick. Again. Young trips to the ground, gets right up. Leg kicks from both. Left hand from Poirier and a leg kick. One two from Young. Leg kick from Poirier. Close round but I give it to Poirier 10-9.

Round 2 – Leg kick from both guys. Young with another leg kick and a jumping round kick and another leg kick. Misses with a wheel kick. Young grabs a tie clinch and Poirier throws him off. Poirier lands a low kick to the groin. Ref warns Poirier. Big leg kick from Young. Touches up the face with a one two. Head kick is blocked, lands a leg kick. Straight left from Poirier. Two leg kicks from Young. Inside leg kick from Young. Poirier with an inside leg kick and Young with one in return. Right left from Young. Right from Young. Young bleeding under his left eye. Big left from Poirier and Young is hunting with shots. Poirier puts him on his back, on top in half guard. I score the round 10-9 for Young. Poirier’s corner tells him he’s up by two rounds.

Round 3 – Left jab from Young.  Inside leg kick from Poirier. Left straight from Poirier. Right hand from Poirier. They clinch, Poirier drops levels looking for the takedown. Knee to the thigh from Poirier. Young defends the takedown but Poirier not giving up and drops levels again, grabbing a single and gets Young down. Young gets right up though, puts him against the cage. Poirier drops levels again. Young lands some elbows to his shoulder but Poirier buts him on his butt. Young with more elbows. Young is back to his feet but gets dragged down again. Young back up, lands some punches and elbows  but Poirier puts him on his back and is on top in half guard. Young attacks from his back with hammerfists. Poirier can’t do anything with the takedown but probably won the fight. I score the round 10-9 for Poirier and the fight 29-28 for Poirier.

Nick Ring vs. James Head

Round 1 – Leg kick from Ring, again. Again. Again. Again. Front kick. Leg kick from Ring. Head checks the leg kick. Ring with a leg kick, grabs a tie clinch misses a knee. Then lands one. Straight left from Head. One two from head. Body shot from Ring. Right hand from Head. Leg kick and front kick from Ring. Ring gets the takedown, moves to side control. Ring moves to north south, Head gets up. Right hand and a knee from Head. Big left from Ring. Head lands a solid right that drops Ring. He jumps on him but Ring gets up to his feet. Head with a combo, a knee, punches. Grabs a tie clinch and lands more knees. Ring with a front kick and lands a couple nice punches of his own. Ring seems back. Nice right from head, grabs a half plum and lands elbows. Ring puts him on his back, on top in half guard. Ring lands a couple little elbows. I score the round 10-9 for Head.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Ring. He gets the takedown, Head goes for a guillotine but loses it. Ring in side control, landing some short elbows. Ring locks him up in a top triangle briefly. Moves to north south, back to side control. North south, lands some shots to the body. Head recovers half guard. Elbows from Ring, he stands up and Head is up. Jab and a single leg takedown from Ring. Head bleeding over his left eye. Ring inside full guard, lands a few elbows. Head covers up and looks hurt. There’s a scramble as they try to take each other’s back but Head ends up back on bottom. The ref stops the bout for the doctor to check the cut. It’s on his nose but was bleeding into his eyes so he couldn’t see. Ref puts them back in same position with Ring in side control. Ring lands a couple more elbows. Head traps one of Ring’s arms with his legs but Ring gets out and goes back to punishing him with body punches. Ring can’t see now as the blood has run all into his eyes. Ring is in north south, then side control I score the round 10-9 for Ring.

Round 3 – Left jab, front kick from Ring, then another left. Ring with an easy takedown. Head has full guard. Blood right back in Head’s eyes. Head with wrist control. Ring stands, body shot. Head turtles up. Ring gets on top in half guard and starts punishing with elbows. as Head tries his best to defend but he looks tired and almost broken. Ring stands up, moves to side control, north south, side control. Head in survival mode, gets to his knees but Ring puts him back down, continues to punch. Head finally gives up his back and Ring chokes him out. Nick Ring remains undefeated.

Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Mike Massenzio

Round 1 – Leg kick and a shot from Massenzio, gets it but K-Sos right back up. He shoots again, stuffed. Knee to the thigh from Massenzio. K-Sos backs out, throws some jabs that miss, misses a leg kick. Left hook from Massenzio, leg kick from Massenzio, then he shoots and gets a double leg. Sos right up thoug, right jab. Leg kick from Sos, again. Leg kick from Massenzio. He shoots, stuffed. Uppercut from Sos, again. Right jab from Sos. Big leg kick from Sos but gets taken down. Massenzio on top in half guard. Sos gets out and up to his feet. Massenzio clinches him, Ref separates them. Body shot from Sos. He stuffs another shot, knee from Massenzio. Sos lands a couple nice punches and Massenzio shoots, stuffed. I score the round 10-9 for Soszynski.

Round 2 – Massenzio’s corner told him about three times he won the first round. The refs could easily give it to him for the takedowns, but he did nothing with them. Leg kick from Sos. Massenzio shoots, stuffed. He presses Sos against the cage, looking for a single. Sos pounds the kidneys and pushes Massenzio’s head to the ground forcing him to his knees. Sos with a front choke hold as Massenzio is on his knees. He lets it go as Massenzio holds onto a wrist. Knee to the body from Sos. Massenzio stands, clinched. Knee to the body from both guys. Sos backs out. Massenzio shoots, stuffed. Right hand from Massenzio, shoots, stuffed. They stand and square up. Left hook from Massenzio but Sos lands a bigger punch and this forces Massenzio to shoot, stuffed. Less than a minute to go as Massenzio drops levels against the cage. Ref separates them. Massenzio shoots, stuffed. Right hook from Massenzio but Soszynski tees off with a nice combo. I score the round 10-9 for Soszynski.

Round 3 – Leg kick from Sos, Massenzio shoots, stuffed. Sos lands a punch forcing the shot again. Sos stuffs it and puts him on his back, gets side control. Massenzio gets to his knees as Sos puts his weight on him. Massenzio holds one wrist. Sos puts some elbows and punches in his kidneys. Knee to the body, again, again, again, again from Soszynski. Another knee, another as Massenzio is still on his knees. Sos continues to punish the body with more knees. Massenzio holding with both hands one of Sos’s wrists. Sos with more knees to the ribs. He lands a couple punches, they scramble to the feet. Massenzio drops levels, looking for the takedown. Ref separates them. Under a minute to go. Sos walking him down. Massenzio shoots, stuffed. Stuffed again. Again. I score the round 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for K-Sos.

Chris Weidman vs. Jesse Bongfeldt

Round 1 – Weidman has Ray Longo and Matt Serra in his corner. Weidman with a head kick that’s blocked. Bongfeldt lands a head kick that stuns Weidman, but Weidman clinches up. Bongfeldt hip tosses him and Weidman reverses, ends up in side control. Weidman stands and dives in with a right hand, back in side control, landing short punches. Weidman moves to north south,looks for an armbar but Bongfeldt pulls out and recovers full guard. Weidman moves to half guard. Moves to side control. North south, looking for a kimura but Bongfeldt pulls out. Weidman moves to north south, looking for that arm again but Bongfeldt escapes and gets to his feet. Knee to the body from Weidman. Bongfeldt grabs the knee for a single leg takedown and Weidman catches him in a standing guillotine with just a few seconds left and Bongeldt taps out.

Yves Edwards vs. Sam Stout

Round 1 – Leg kick Stout. Again. Left straight counter from Edwards, he blocks a head kick. head kick from Edwards, shoots, grabs a single, works hard, gets the takedown. Yves on top in Stout’s butterfly guard. Stout gets to his feet. They exchange punches, neither landing anything solid. Front kick from Stout. Yves with a head kick, slips to his butt, gets up. Knee to the body from Stout. Right hook from Edwards but Stout lands a big counter left hook, solid, and Edwards goes to sleep. Head bouncing off mat. Stout doesn’t even bother to follow it up.

Round 1 – Leg kick from Cerrone, this time to the inside. Hits him in the cup. Leg kick again. Rocha swings. Knee to the body from Cerrone. Leg kick from Cerrone and Rocha returns one. Cerrone with the leg kick and Rocha puts him on his back. Cerrone tries to lock up an omoplata, Rocha pulls out and Cerrone gets to his feet. Rocha drops levels for the takedown but Cerrone escapes. Leg kick from Cerrone. Inside leg kick, outside. Left jab from Cerrone. Cerrone stuffs a takedown, but Rocha lands a right. Leg kick from Rocha. Leg kick from Cerrone. Again. One two leg kick from Cerrone. Rocha shoots from way out, stuffed. Inside leg kick from Cerrone. Left, leg kick from Cerrone.. Leg kick from Cerrone forces the shot, stufed. Cerrone catches a kick, sweeps the back leg. Rocha gets back up. One two leg kick from Cerrone. This is a stand up showcase for Cowboy here. Leg kick from Cerrone. Rocha lands a couple shots. Round 2 – Greg Jackson noticed Cowboy wasn’t even breathing hard. He does tell him to quit playing with the guy. Leg kick from Cerrone. Head kick, blocked. Big leg kick from Cerrone. Rocha attacks but gets thwarted. Leg kick from Cowboy. He catches a kick, gives a head kick. Rocha gets a trip takedown, Cerrone bounces right up, but Rocha stays on him and Cerrone escapes. Leg kick from Cerrone. One two from Rocha. Big right from Rocha. Inside leg kick from Cerrone. Leg kick again. Inside and Rocha checks it. Leg kick from Rocha and Cerrone counters with a right hand. Rocha goes for the takedown, stuffed. Rocha dives in pulling guard for the legs of Cerrone. Cerrone stuffs it. Cerrone counters a knee with a straight punch. Two leg kicks from Cerrone then a front kick. Big leg kick. Another, inside. Cerrone stuffs a takedown. Again. Rocha tries to pull guard, no dice. Leg kick from Cerrone. Wild swing from Rocha misses. I score it 10-9 for Cerrone.

Round 3 – LOL. Greg Jackson told Cowboy the fight could go either way right now. Rogan caught it too — said it must be psychology. Front kick from Cowboy, leg kick. The thing is, Cowboy has never won a fight via TKO or knockout. Rocha shoots, sprawled. Leg kick from Cerrone. Cerrone really needs to finish this fight. He’s not being very aggressive at all. Jumping knee from Rocha. Leg kick from Cerrone. Cerrone catches a leg, sweeps the back leg out. Rocha slaps him, overhand right. Rocha shoots, stuffed. Rocha slides in trying to pull guard — that got a chorus of boos. Leg kick from Cerrone, again. Right hand from Cowboy, leg kick. One two three from Cerrone. Punch, leg kick from Cowboy. Cerrone drops him with ten seconds left, gives him one last leg kick before the bell. Rocha sits down. My only thing is, if Cowboy can’t finish this guy with his stand up, who can he finish with it? Strange really. Technically though he looked almost flawless.

Jon Olav Einemo vs. Dave Herman

Round 1 – Front kick from Herman. Herman with a jab and leg kick, another leg kick. Einemo clinches up trying for a trip takedown. Herman with a body shot. Herman with a knee to the chin, knee to the body. Leg kick from Herman. Front kick. Right from Einemo just misses. Herman’s stand up looking much improved. Uppercut from Einemo. Knee from Herman to the head. Leg kick Einemo. Front kick from Herman. Einemo chases and misses. Leg kick from Herman. Again. Big one. Inside kick. Right hand from Einemo. Knee from Herman stops a takedown. Body kick from Herman, leg kick. One two three from Herman. Bog body kick and Einemo puts Herman on hsi back. Einemo gets to side control. Herman gets out and up. Einemo misses a big right. Leg kick from Herman. Herman with a knee, Einemo answers with a knee and a right hand of his own. Clinch. Uppercut from Einemo. They separate. Dave swings and misses. Einemo just misses with a right. Einemo with a takedown. I guess the round I give to Einemo 10-9 for the takedowns.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Herman. Front kick. One two from Einemo. He pushes Herman to the cage. Big shots from Einemo, Herman with a front kick. They tie up, knees from both. Einemo tags him with a few shots. Einemo falls to the ground after missing a punch. Herman loses his mouth piece, they wash it off. Big knee busts Herman’s face and Einmo comes after him. Big kick to the body and a punch drops Einemo. herman with elbows from the top. Einemo tries to attack the leg and Herman is out. Herman lands a big shot and Einemo lands one. Herman with three big knes. Uppercut from Einemo and a knee hurts Einemo. Herman attacks with punches to a downed Einemo and Dave Herman wins it in a fight of the year candidate. Awesome my god. That’s classic Herman always finding a way to win.

Demian Maia vs. Mark Munoz

Round 1 – Leg kick from Munoz. Munoz comes in but gets caught with a big left hook that puts Munoz on queer street. He wobbles, but seems to have recovered. Big right hand by Maia scores before he clinches. Knee to the body from Maia. Knees from both. Ref separates them. One two head kick from Maia. His stand up looks tons better. One two, head kick again from Maia. Clinch, knee to the body from Maia, he backs out. Munoz lands a big solid left hook. He blocks Maia’s body kick. Maia ducks a head kick and counters with a big punch. Left hook from Munoz stops Maia in his tracks. Left hand from Maia as Munoz comes in head hunting, Munoz shoots. Bell sounds. I see the round 10-9 for Maia.

Round 2 – Big one two from Munoz and Maia shoots. Munoz lands about ten hard punches to Maia’s thighs and body. Munoz sprawling but Maia trying to pull guard. Munoz and Maia stand and Maia is head hunting. Maia counters with a big left and Maia fires back. Maia shoots, stuffed. Munoz locks on a D’arce, ends up giving top position to Maia. Munoz escapes as Maia tries to take his back. Maia shoots, grabs a single. Munoz sprawls, punches his thighs hard. Maia grabs underhooks on the ground, pulls Munoz into full guard with two minutes left. Munoz in half guard. They stand, clinched, Munoz grabs a single. Maia locks on a front choke but Munoz pulls out and is on top in half guard. Maia grabs a body lock. Munoz with body shots. Forty seconds left. Stale mate. Ref separates them. I score the round 10-9 for Munoz.

Round 3 – They hug to the boos of the crowd. Maia blocks a head kick. Munoz shoots, gets the takedown but Maia gets right up. Munoz shoots again, grabs a single. Maia takes Munoz’s back, locks on a crucifix, neck crank, Munoz spins out and stands. Munoz clinches up. Maia with a knee to the body. Two minutes to go as it turns into a wrestling match. Munoz trying for the takedown as they rest against the cage. The ref separates them. Left hand and head kick from Maia. Maia with a knee as Munoz shoots. He tosses Maia to his back, throws a big right. Maia gets up, clinch against the cage. Separate with 30 seconds to go. They exchange body kicks. Throw punches and Maia shoots, stuffed. Munoz with a left hand. I score the round 10-9 for Munoz but it’s very close. Could go either way, but I think Munoz gets it 29-28.

Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes

Round 1 – Head kick blocked by Nunes. Nunes throws a head kick that misses, misses a leg kick and spinning backfist. Both guys slipping everything right now. Kenny stalking. Nunes slips and rips but misses. Leg kick from Nunes. Kenny shoots, stuffed, clinch, knee from Kenny. Kenny gets the takedown and is going for Nunes’ back. Nunes defends and turns it around pushing Kenny tto the cage. Nunes drops levels and gets his own takedown. Elbows from Kenny help him to his feet, clinch. Nunes backs out. Nunes with a leg kick, Kenny catches it, tries for the takedown. Nunes with a jab and a leg kick. Leg kick from Florian, Nunes returns it. Spinning backfist catches Kenny on the neck. Kenny blocks a high kick but it knocks him back. Jab from Kenny scores, ducks a punch and gets a big takedown with 40 seconds left. Nunes escapes to his feet, clinch. Florian ducks a spinning backfist. Nunes drops him with a punch. Goes to follow up and Kenny throws up his legs for a triangle. Bell sounds. I score the round 10-9 for Nunes.

Round 2 – Sorry, my power went out during this round but it looked like Florian won it from what I’m hearing. Keep fingers crossed my power doesn’t go out again.

Round 3 – Big leg kick from Kenny. Nunes with a leg kick. Kenny checks a leg kick. Kenny with a head kick. Kenny with the double jab. Grabs a clinch, lands a knee to the body then gets a double leg takedown. Kenny inside his gull guard, big elbow by Kenny. Kenny with punches to the body, softening him up. He moves to half guard. Nice elbow from Florian. Nunes recovers full guard and Florian is staying busy, moves to side control. Nunes puts his feet on the fence. Nunes gets out and to his feet with just under two minutes left in the fight. Nunes clinches, looking for the takedown and Florian defends. Nunes tries to attack with punches and kicks and Florian is reading him, countering perfectly. Jab from Florian, nice double jab from Florian. Nunes scores with a punch and Florian lands a big knee from the Thai plum. Ten seconds to go. Uppercuts from Florian, but Nunes fires back and drops Kenny to one knee with a right. I give the round 10-9 to Florian.

NOTES: Florian said cutting to 145 lbs. was the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life. He was also coming off a surgery.

Shane Carwin vs. Junior dos Santos

Round 1 – Dos Santos walks out to the “Rocky Theme”. Wow, two big boys here. Who will land first? Carwin shoots, grabs a single. Pushes him against the cage. Junior backs out. Carwin with a counter right. Nice right by dos Santos. Left hook and uppercut from dos Santos, jab from Carwin. Jab from dos Santos, Carwin misses a left hook. Shane blocks a overhand right. Left hook from Junior. Shane ducks a punch, gets a takedown but Junior gets right up without going all the way down. Lead hook from Junior, jab. One two from Junior, jab. Jab. He’s beating Shane to the punch. Nice jab jab from Junior, another one. One two and Junior hurts Shane as he goes to his knees. He’s in trouble as Junior tries to take his back. Shane turtles up and Cigano keeps punching him over and over about 40 times. Shane blocked a lot of them. He gets to his feet and he’s a bloody mess. He has a cut under his left eye as he sits in his corner. I score it 10-8 for Junior.

Round 2 – They touch gloves. What heart by Shane. Head kick from Junior is blocked. Overhand right from Junior misses the mark. Shane counters an uppercut. Jab from Cigano. Leg kick from Cigano. Left jab from Junior, again. Jab to the body. Shane swings big and misses. Inside leg kick from Junior. Leg kick from Carwin. Again. Junior with one inside. Jab from Junior. Carwin with a jab. Shane tags Junior with a right as he chases him down. Nice right counter from Carwin as Junior goes for the body. Big inside leg kick from Junior. Leg kick from Shane. Nice jab from Junior. One minute to go. Huge head kick from Junior and Carwin just eats it. Wow I don’t know how he took that. Big left hook from Cigano. Jab on the chin. Big body shot from Junior and he tries to take his head off with an overhand right that just misses. 10-9 for Junior.

Round 3 – Shane asks if he can blow his nose, his corner says no. His nose is probably broken. Shane shoots, gets a single and puts Junior down but he lands on a knee and gets up but Shane is still pinning him against the cage. Knee from Cigano on the break. Jab from Junior. Carwin tries to get in with two big ones but misses. Big credit for Herb Dean not stopping this fight. Right hand from Junior. Jab from Junior and a left hook that staggers Carwin. One two from Junior. Again with the one two, left hook, body shot. Right hand and he’s picking Carwin apart. One two. Jab. Body shot from Junior. Herb Dean calls the doctor in to look at Shane. Carwin raises his hand that he’s okay. Left hook from Junior and he puts Carwin down. Carwin kicks out and is up on his feet. Leg kick from Junior. Left hook. He gets another takedown and Carwin locks on a choke but time runs out. Carwin’s face is a bloody mess. Wow. Tough fight. Never thought that would go the distance. Dammit — too bad that five round rule hasn’t already been implemented. Junior should have the round 10-9 and fight 30-27.

NOTE:  Junior gets a shot against Cain Velasquez for the title. Cain comes into the cage and says he’s excited for the match-up.

Good job Jack….couldn’t get out to watch the PPV….your coverage is really good…caught the prelims on SPIKE…Stout’s KO of Edwards was classic…Goldie even mentioned right as the fight started how Stout loves to through the left hook…guess Herman will be on the radar now for a big fight, who do you think would be a good opponent for him next?…oh yea, more Meisha!

  3. Thanks TED, Herman looked amazing. Standup much much improved. He’s so crazy, he took some huge shots but it just woke him up it seems — like the heavyweight Chris Leben. Next fight for him — Kongo would be fun. Big Country maybe or Struve, Beltran…

  5. nice… except you’ll have to pay royalties on that tattoo. on a side note, my grandma had a similar facial tattoo but it was more in the shape of a piece of corn bread.
