After a title fight with Jose Aldo fell through, Chad Mendes has been matched with ADCC champion Rani Yahya. The bout will be part of UFC 133, which takes place Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

After news broke that Aldo could not compete until the fall, Mendes’ manager told MMAJunkie that the fighter still wanted to compete at UFC 133, and now he gets his wish.

Mendes came to MMA after an outstanding wrestling career at Cal Poly. He has blazed his way to an undefeated 10-0 record. In his last fight, he defeated top-ten featherweight Michihiro Omigawa.

Yahya finished his WEC run with a 4-3 run. In 2007, he challenged Chase Beebe for the promotion’s bantamweight belt, but could not take home the decision. In his last fight, he picked up arguably the biggest win of his career when he bested former featherweight champion Mike Thomas Brown.

Also at UFC 133, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans will meet NCAA champion Phil Davis.
