KSW 16 took place Saturday in Poland. In the co-main event, five-time World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski (3-2) stepped back inside the MMA ring for his fifth MMA fight. After submitting Butterbean due to punches last September, Pudz evidently assumed he was ready to take a step-up in competition and face someone who in everyday life was actually capable of standing up should they end up on the ground.

Pride veteran James “The Colossus” Thompson (16-14, 1 NC) at the very least does not face the risk of suffocating should he end up on his back. Most U.S. fans will remember “The Colossus” as the punching bag EliteXC dug up to face Kimbo Slice on CBS prime time back in 2008.

The only problem now, as it was against Slice, is that Thompson is an experienced MMA veteran. That fact, combined with the fact he is in pretty good shape, is a big guy, and does not weigh 600 pounds, made him a dangerous opponent against Pudzianowski, who aside from being very green in the sport, would probably require some type of electric generator to pump the blood through all his muscles over a three round fight.
