Over the weekend former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman fell by submission to Baga Agaev at WAFC “Mayor’s Cup 2011.” After the bout Randleman’s agent, Ken Pavia indicated on Twitter that the fighter said “this is the end.”

Randleman also suffered a severely dislocated elbow in the bout. However, it was set shortly after the contest.

“The Monster” won multiple NCAA Division I championships at The Ohio State University before transitioning to MMA with friend and mentor Mark Coleman. Randleman made his debut in 1996 and won three bouts in one night to capture the Universal Vale Tudo Fighting 4 championship.

At UFC 23, he defeated Pete Williams to win the vacant UFC heavyweight title. He defended the belt once with a decision over Pedro Rizzo before dropping the title to Randy Couture.

The wrestler will probably be best remembered for his surprising knockout of Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic in the first round of the Pride 2004 Heavyweight Grand Prix.
