Welterweights Johny Hendricks (10-1) and Mike Pierce (12-3) will face off at UFC 133 on Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn.

UFC President Dana White confirmed on Monday that verbal agreements for the bout were in place.

Hendricks, who made his debut inside the Octagon in Aug. 2009 with a 29-second knockout  of Amir Sadollah, has put together an impressive 5-1 run inside the organization.

The 27-year-old four-time All-American’s most recent bout took place against T.J. Waldburger at UFC Fight Night 24 in March, where he once again scored a first round knockout, the third of his UFC career.

Pierce, a 30-year-old wrestler out of Portland, Ore., made his debut with the promotion in Sept. 2009 with a unanimous decision over Brock Larson. He is currently 4-1 inside the Octagon and is on a three-fight win streak.

His most recent bout took place in February at UFC 126 against an undefeated Kenny Robertson who was making his UFC debut. Pierce stopped him with punches just 29 seconds into round two, giving the Illinois fighter a cold welcome to the big leagues.

UFC 133 is also expected to feature a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes, and a light heavyweight bout between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis.
