Shooto has officially announced a 134-pound fight for Shooto’s Legacy 3. World-ranked Masakatsu Ueda will take on Shooto legend Rumina Sato at the event, which takes place July 18 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Both fighters were intended to be a part of this Friday’s Shooto Tradition 2011 card. However, after the promotion was unable to secure opponents for the fighters, they were matched for the summer event.

Ueda has won back-to-back since dropping the Shooto World title to Shuichiro Katsumura last year. He holds victories over Bellator prospect Eduardo Dantas, WEC veteran Akitoshi Tamura and Dream veteran Atsushi Yamamoto.

The “Moon Wolf” snapped a four-fight losing streak with a victory over Corey Grant at Vale Tudo Japan 2009. Last year, he scored a second-round knockout victory over Ryota “The Shooto Junkie” Matsune.

Sato has been a mainstay in Shooto since making his debut in 1994. He has fought Andre Pederneiras, Caol Uno, Yves Edwards and Gilbert Melendez.
