Cindy Dandois has revealed on his Facebook fan page that she will be unable to fight Gina Carano this summer, because she is pregnant.

“I am so sad I cant take the fight against Gina,” Dandois wrote. “It was and still is one of my biggest goals. But on the other hand, it is a blessing from God to get a child an become a mother again. A child is forever and you must care about a life that is given by the hand of God. I hope I can do the fight after my pregnancy.”

In an interview with MMAFighting, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that Dandois was “three and a half months pregnant.” If this is true, it would mean that “Battlecat” was actually pregnant when she defeated Jorina Baars March 19.

Most athletic commissions in the U.S. require women to take a pregnancy test as part of their pre-fight medical check up. However, this fight took place in Antwerp, Belgium.

The Belgian judoka burst onto the women’s scene in 2009. She scored a surprising victory over current Strikeforce 135-pound champion Marloes Coenen in her MMA debut. She won her next three fights under the M-1 Global banner, before suffering her first loss at the hands of Yana Kunitskaya at M-1 Challenge 22.

Carano is set to return to MMA for the first time since 2009. She spend the last 21 months filming “Haywire,” which is a new spy thriller from director Steven Soderbergh.

  1. They should create new test for women, becouse it is so dangerous… She could kill her child…

  2. Isn’t she the girl that was dating Gegard Mousasi ? is it his baby or are they no longer an item ?
