Twenty-six-year-old New Yorker, Chris Weidman (5-0) will make his second Octagon appearance on June 11 in Vancouver.

TUF 11 winner Court McGee has been forced to withdraw from his June 11 scheduled bout against Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 131 in Vancouver due to a knee injury. Stepping in for McGee will be undefeated middleweight Chris Weidman.

McGee suffered a knee injury according to a UFC.com report.

Weidman (5-0) makes his return to the Octagon following a unanimous decision victory over Alessio Sakara in his UFC debut in Louisville last month. The Serra-Longo-trained fighter took the fight with Sakara on just two weeks notice, replacing an injured Rafael Natal.

Bongfeldt (21-7-1) actually made his UFC debut back in December at UFC 124 against Natal, fighting to a draw. Prior to that, the Ontario fighter was on a seven-fight win streak. Not a single one of Bongfeldt’s 21 wins have gone to a decision.

UFC 131 features Brock Lesnar vs. Junior dos Santos in the main event and will take place at the Rogers Center in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. See our upcoming events page for the full fight card line-up.
