LUBBOCK, Texas – King of the Cage will bring it’s brand of professional mixed martial arts to “The Lone Star State” on April 16 at the Lubbock Civic Center.

The event, simply titled “Texas”, will be King of the Cage’s 223rd show. The organization has promoted 2,419 official professional bouts during its nearly 12 year tenure.

“KOTC: Texas” will feature 11 matches including a welterweight championship main event between current KOTC 170-pound champ Quinn Mulhern (14-1) vs. Anselmo Martinez (6-3).

Mulhern is currently riding a six fight win streak in the KOTC, most recently having defeated Garret Davis via unanimous decision at “KOTC: Black Ops” back in December. Martinez last fought in Oct. 2010, scoring a first round submission over Tim Stout.

Also featured on this card is UFC Hall of Famer and MMA godfather Dan “The Beast” Severn (98-16-7), who will take on Lubbock native Aaron Garcia (3-3) in a heavyweight showdown.
