WEC veteran Hiromitsu Miura took a six-round decision victory over Todd Manuel on Friday at the Cosmopolitan Resort in Las Vegas.

The light heavyweight fight was broadcast as part of ESPN2′ “Friday Night Fights.”

The win improved Miura boxing record to a perfect 6-0 with three knockouts. The Japanese fighter transitioned into boxing in 2010 after falling to Edgar Garcia by knockout at WEC 38 and receiving his release.

Miura went 2-3 in the WEC between 2007-2009. Despite his losing record, he earned the respect of MMA fans in defeats against Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Carlos Condit. He faced off with Condit with the WEC welterweight title on the line and the two were awarded with “Fight of the Night” honors.

At 29 years old, Miura still hopes of becoming a world champion in boxing. He has said that he will stay in the sport and not return to boxing.
