SEATTLE — UFC Fight Night 24 takes place this evening at Key Arena in Seattle, Wash., and features a light heavyweight main event between Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira and Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis, both of who are ranked among the world’s 10 best in the 205-pound division.

In the co-main event, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson makes his return to the Octagon following a nearly 16-month layoff to face fellow welterweight striking specialist Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy.

UFC Fight Night 24 will air live on Spike TV starting at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on West Coast) and will be preceded by a host of preliminary card bouts that will stream live on the UFC’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/UFC) starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.

UFC Fight Night 24 play-by-play:

265 lbs. Sean McCorkle vs. Christian Morecraft

Round 1 – No glove touch. Big leg kick from Morecraft, they clinch, knee from Morecraft to the thigh, has underhooks looking for the takedown as he pushes McCorkle against the cage. McCorkle actually gets the takedown. Morecraft tries to throw up an armbar but McCorkle defends and lands a few shots. Morecraft grabs a leg, looking for a kneebar. McCorkle escapes but Morecraft scrambles and ends up on top. Scramble and Morecraft ends up on top in half guard. Two big elbows from Morecraft, his own mouth guard falls out, he picks it up, puts it back in and continues with the elbows. Morecraft stands up and gives McCorkle a few kicks to the thighs as the crowd boos heavily. Morecraft hovers over and lands a couple punches. McCorkle turtles and Morecraft gets side control and lands some decent elbows, grinding the elbow now, another big one and one small one before the bell. Round 2 – McCorkle’s corner told him he lost the round. Morecraft weaves and bobs and comes in swinging, they clinch against the cage and Morecraft gets underhooks. He backs up and lands several bombs then re-clinches. Morecraft tries to drag him down, McCorkle almost takes his back but, grabs for a kimura. Morecraft lands some big shots to the side of his head, and McCorkle lets the arm go. Morecraft on top in half guard landing elbows and McCorkle’s face is opened up. Morecraft stands up and lands some punches then lets McCorkle up. They clinch immediately against the cage. Morecraft lands a low blow and McCorkle gets five minutes to recover. The audience boos. I’m not sure if  McCorkle even got hit in the groin because he does not act hurt at all at least in the groin. But he is taking the time to recover. He has a big mouse under his eye… The crowd roars with boos and McCorkle taking the time. Here they go. They exchange punches and McCorkle lands a counter. He shoots after taking a leg kick and Morecraft locks on a standing guillotine. Morecraft is smiling and drops an unconscious Sean McCorkle to the ground and walks away. Beautiful finish by Morecraft. Morecraft is good. If you have not seen his fight with Stefan Struve… go watch it now… okay not now, but soon.

135 lbs. Edwin Figueroa vs. Michael McDonald

Round 1 – Leg kick from McDonald and Figueroa gives one back. They both start swinging and Figueroa lands an overhand right. They both throw a big flurry with McDonald getting the better of the exchange. Lands another right hand. Figueroa swings big but misses. Again he misses with a huge overhand right and McDonald lands a nice counter. Leg kick from McDonald. Head kick scores for Figueroa. McDonald lands a nice right, fires a head kick that is blocked. Left jab from McDonald and misses with a quick three punch combo. Nice right from McDonald. Elbow and a knee from McDonald score following a Superman punch from Figueroa. Leg kick from Figueroa. McDonald gets a takedown, inside Figueroa’s full guard. McDonald stands up and they swing and miss. Both guys are trying to take each other’s head off and it ends in a flurry with McDonald landing a big one that wobbles Figueroa badly. Clipped him with a right. Round 2 – Leg kick from Figueroa. Then lands a head kick and McDonald eats it and puts Figueroa on his back. McDonald moves in to attack and Figueroa locks up his leg, misses the foot and McDonald takes his back and locks in the choke. It’s under the chin, Rogan said it was over, but nope. Figueroa is still in trouble here but not nearly as bad. Figueroa squirms, gets on his feet but McDonald locks on an armbar triangle. Figueroa fights it and lands a right hand. McDonald still has  him in full guard. Figueroa with big body shots. McDonald locks on a triangle and Figueroa tries to get out, slams McDonald and he gets free. McDonald uses an armbar/triangle ala Werdum on Fedor. One minute to go and Figueroa escapes. Crazy!! Great defense from Figueroa. McDonald hanging in tight. Nice right from Figueroa. He postures up and lands a few nice punches. Figueroa takes his back, McDonald rolls and the bell sounds. Great fight. ProMMAnow.com scores it 10-9 for McDonald. (judges may give that one to Figueroa though)

Round 3 – Left hook from Figueroa. Nice right from Figueroa and McDonald slips another shot. They both miss with big shots. Right hand from McDonald and Figueroa misses an uppercut. Front kick from Figueroa and McDonald rocks him with a hook. Body shot from Figueroa and McDonald shoots and gets the takedown. Elbow from McDonald as he postures up. Figueroa gets up. 2:30 to go and McDonald drives in with a shot and puts Figueroa on his back. Figueroa sweeps and ends up on top in side control. Back and forth fight here, great debut from these two. McDonald has full guard now. He throws up an armbar but Figueroa gets out, up kick from McDonald and Figueroa lets him up. Big knee to the body from Figueroa, a head kick. McDonald shoots and picks him up and down hard. Figueroa with rubber guard. Elbow from McDonald. They hug it out. What an awesome fight. 171 lbs. John Hathaway vs. Kris McCray

Round 1 – Leg kick from McCray, Hathaway retaliates with punches, McCray shoots, stuffed. Hathaway landing some nice jabs and McCray fires back, they clinch, McCray with knees to the thighs, looking for a takedown. Hathaway rolls for a leg and goes for a toe hold. He lost it and McCray is on top in half guard. Hathaway trying to use his back against the cage to get up. McCray lands some punches in the process here but Hathaway is up. Hathaway catches a knee and dumps McCray on his back but he immediately McCray gains control and they get back to their feet. McCray drags him back down and is inside full guard. Palm strikes and elbows from Hathaway. He tries to throw his legs up for something. McCray staying busy with punches and elbows. They stand. Big knee to the body from Hathaway. They exchange punches before the bell. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for McCray.

Round 2 – Frankie Edgar is in McCray’s corner. Jab from Hathaway, then lands a right before they clinch. Hathaway drops levels, gets a takedown but McCray gets up in a scramble and Hathaway lands a knee. Right hand from McCray scores. Leg kick from McCray, he catches a knee and dumps Hathaway down. Hathaway goes for an armbar but McCray escapes. McCray inside full guard, lands some big body punches. Some clinch wrestling here with rabbit punches and knees. Nice one two from Hathaway. McCray shoots, stuffed. Hathaway gets a single but McCray reverses immediately and gets full mount. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Hathaway.

Round 3 – Knee to the body from Hathaway, he drops levels and gets the takedown. Hathaway in half guard landing some shots. Hathaway staying busy enough not to get stood up here. Landing several punches to the face and body, nice elbows. Nothing too damaging though. McCray tries to escape and sweeps. McCray inside full guard here and Hathaway trying to use his back against the cage to get up. He puts some bosy shots on McCray as he gets to his feet. McCray immediately pulls his legs out from under him. Hathaway gets up again, backs out of the clinch. Body shot with a knee. Big takedown from Hathaway. Body shots and punches from Hathaway. He postures up and lands several punches to the face. McCray is up. Body kick from Hathaway. McCray lands a right hand. He shoots, stuffed. Hathaway gets his own takedown with 10 seconds to go. Round 1 – Bruce Leeroy comes in smiling as usual, big ol’ smile, just happy to be there. Be sure to check out our recent exclusives on Bruce Leeroy on the site. Head kick from Bruce. Head kick from Mackens and Straight left from Alex. Alex throws a combo and Mackens locks up with him. Tries for the takedown but Caceres jumps guard. Mackens postures up and Alex stands up on one leg, now both legs. Mackens gets another takedown. Elbow from Mackens. Then a couple punches and Alex gets up, another takedown from Mackens, gets mount. Alex gives up his back. Alex stands up trying to shake him off his back. Mackens locks on the rear-naked and chokes out Alex. Alex still smiling and they shake hands.

265 lbs. Jon Madsen vs. Mike Russow

Round 1 – Right hand from Madsen. Russow swings, clinches, let go. Clinches, scramble, Russow with a left. Russow with a right and they tie up. Madsen breaks out, misses with a couple punches. Clinch and break again. Madsen misses with an overhand right. Russow with a right. Leg kick from Madsen. Madsen misses again with a one two, then lands a right hook. Russow rushes in with a punch and Madsen partially lands a counter, then a leg kick. Another leg kick, clinch, knee to the body from Madsen. Right hand from Russow and Madsen counters. Madsen breathing hard. Russow comes in lands a little right, clinch. Body shot from Russow. Boos from the crowd at the pace. One, two from Madsen and Russow lands a right. Hmmm…. interesting fight. Round 2 – Uppercut from Russow. Madsen with a right. Russow stuffs a takedown and is on Madsen’s back but Madsen is up and his left eye is messes up, swollen pretty bad. Russow gets a takedown and has Madsen up against the cage on one knee. The crowd boos. The ref stands them up. Nice knee to the body from Madsen. Leg kick and a punch from Madsen. Russow misses with a punch and gets a clinch. Boos and the ref separates them. Russow punches and clinches which has been his M.O. for the whole fight. Russow drags Madsen down and is riding Madsen’s back. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Russow.

Madsen’s eye look horrible. It’s swollen shut and they stop the fight because of it. The Seattle Commission must be a little timid.

145 lbs. Leonard Garcia vs. Chan Sung Jung

Round 1 – Leg kick from Jung. Leg kick from Leonard and a right hook. Head kick from Garcia, blocked. Jung with a leg kick. One two from Garcia. Nice overhand right from Garcia. Leg kick, countered by Jung with a punch and leg kick. Garcia swings big and misses. Left hook from Garcia. Uppercut and leg kick from Jung, Garcia with a big right. Garcia catches a leg from a high kick and counters. One, two for Garcia. Jung counters and gets a takedown. Jung looking for an armbar. Lost it, but on top of Garcia. Garcia stands and Jung landed a knee to the head, one more to the head as Garcia’s hand touched the mat, ref missed it. Jung on top now, Garcia on his back. Jung gets side control and mount. Garcia gives up his back and lands shots until the bell sounds. Garcia smiling. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Jung.

Round 2 – Jung has a little cut under his right eye. Garcia much more composed in this fight than from their first meeting. Left straight from Garcia. Garcia lands a nice flying knee. Jung misses with a jumping knee. Garcia with a straight left on the chin. Garcia ducks Jung’s head kick. Garcia with a big leg kick. Another leg kick. Jung lands a nice knee as Garcia ducks in. Big leg kick from Jung. Jung shoots, stuffed. Uppercut from Jung and a flying knee. Jung drops Garcia with a kick, he may have partially slipped but Jung is on top inside guard. Jung with big elbows that connect. Jung takes Garcia’s back with 20 seconds to go. Has one hook in. Jung with a Twister and he taps Garcia out. Eddie Bravo is smiling right now I guarantee it. Beautiful submission with only ONE second left. That has to be submission of the night and gets my nomination for submission of the year. Congratulations to the Korean Zombie!!

Rogan tells Jung it’s the first Twister ever in the UFC and Jung said he’s been watching Eddie Bravo’s videos on Youtube for a long time and said he told his teammates he wanted to get a Twister in the UFC one day. Jung has been working with Team Alpha Male for the last month. Jung is a genuine featherweight star, even though he doesn’t speak English, it doesn’t even matter. He has a humble genuine personality and also a great translator which helps a lot.

170 lbs. DaMarques Johnson vs. Amir Sadollah

Round 1 –  Sadollah with a left and a leg kick and lands a kick to the back of the head of Johnson but Johnson ends up on top of him in side control, Sadollah gets to his feet right away though and lands a kick to the groin. Ref stops it but Johnson says he’s okay. Leg kick from Sadollah. Johnson catches a push kick and puts him on his back. Sadollah has full guard, Johnson passes to half, Amir gets full. Amir looks for an arm but Johnson resists, lands a couple nice elbows. Another one. He lets Amir up. Johnson counters with a solid punch. Lands a left hook. Bosy shot and a kick from Amir. Johnson slips but gets right up. Clinched. Johnson with the takedown but Amir gets right up and gets his own takedown. Amir inside full guard. Amir with a couple punches before the bell as Johnson throws his legs up. Back and forth close round. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Sadollah.

Round 2 – Right hand from Johnson, again. Again. Knee to the body from Johnson, again. Sadollah lands his own knee and several punches to the face bloodying up the nose of Johnson. Johnson fires back. Johnson backs out and lands a couple punches and a nice knee to the body. He slips to a a knee, gets up as Amir attacks. Amir gets him to the ground and is in half guard. Amir with elbows and punches as he postures up. Knee on belly. Johnson turtles. Big knees to the body from Sadollah, Johnson gets to his feet, clinched. Amir slings him to the ground and gets full mount. He holds one arm down and lands elbows with the other. Johnson covers up and Amir lands big elbows until the ref stops it after Johnson taps out. Overwhelming performance from Amir Sadollah. That’s the best performance we have ever seen from Mr. Sadollah. He has really come into his own. Keep in mind Johnson took the fight on two weeks notice.

170 lbs. Dan Hardy vs. Anthony Johnson

Round 1 – Johnson looks huge. Leg kick Johnson. Misses with one. Hardy misses with one. Jab from Johnson. Johnson drops Hardy with a head kick and tires to finish him. Hardy turtles and Johnson has him clinched, lands a knee and grabs a leg and pouts him on his back. Shoulder shot from top inside Hardy’s guard. Johnson lands two big lefts. Hardy hands on or tries to. I really underestimated the size difference in this fight. Size and strength. Hardy throws up a triangle attempt but Johnson pulls out. Hardy looking for a kimura now. Johnson landing some body shots and pulls out of the kimura. Johnson in half guard. Hardy doing good not taking much damage. Body shots from Johnson and small hammerfists. ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Johnson.

Round 2 – Hardy looks timid. Johnson hunting, puts Hardy on his back. So much for the stand and bang game. Johnson lands a few shots from inside guard. Hardy looking for a kimura as Johnson wears out his ribs. Johnson gets out of the kimura and throws down some elbows. Hardy goes back for the kimura but Johnson pulls out easily and lands another elbow and continues more punches to the body. Hardy has his feet on the cage, tries to push off but Johnson on top  landing some big shots now. Hardy gets a arm under Johnson’s leg but the ref stands them up. Thirty seconds to go and Johnson goes for the takedown. Hardy defends this one, but not for long. The crowd boos but Johnson won the round. ProMMAnow.com scores it 10-9 for Johnson.

Round 3 – Hardy goes for his own takedown and ends up on his back. Hardy goes for the kimura again. Johnson pulls out. Hardy goes for the kimura again, gets to a sitting position. Johnson takes his back. Knees to the thigh as Hardy gets to his feet. Head kick from Johnson. He shoots, gets another takedown and takes Hardy’s back. Tries to choke him, lets go and lands several punches. Big punch to the jaw from Johnson. Less than two minutes to go. The crowd boos. They roll, Johnson has a body triangle, locks on an arm triangle, it’s tight, lost it. School yard choke from Johnson. Johnson lands several punches before the bell. Davis puts knees to his thighs, over and over. Davis backs out. Nog swings and misses. Nog with a counter punch to Davis’ kick. Davis shoots, stuffed. They separate. Nog blocks a head kick. Davis shoots, stuffed. Nog swings and misses. Nog throwing bombs. Davis lands a head kick but Nog clips him with a counter punch. Davis shoots, stuffed, Nog falls to the ground but gets right up. Nog catches a kick and lands a counter right. Nog stuffs a shot, back to the feet. Leg kick from Nog. Wow! ProMMAnow.com scores the round 10-9 for Nog.

Round 2 – Davis isn’t ready for Jon Jones. Not yet. Head kick from Davis blocked. Both miss with big punches. Nog blocks a kick swings. Nog catches a kick looks to counter. Body kick from Davis. Nog stalking. Lands a left hook. Left straight from Nog. Head kick, blocked, Nog stuffs the shot. Left, right from Nog. Head kick from Nog scores. Left hand from Nog. Leg kick from Davis. Nog gets up without taking any damage. Stalking Davis. Nog catches a kick. Davis goes for a single, stuffed. Nog stalking. Body kick from Davis, he gets the takedown. Davis in half guard, lands a few body shots. One minute to go. Man I wish this was a five rounder. Davis not able to do any damage. Nog holds his wrists until the bell sounds.
