UFC undefeated light heavyweight Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis (8-0) is the scheduled guest for Wednesday’s edition of AFTERNOON PRESS BOX. Darren and the boys will talk with Davis about his UFC Fight NIght 24 main event bout against MMA legend Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4) which takes place this Saturday, March 26, in Seattle, Wash., and airs LIVE on Spike TV.
Davis’ opponent for Fight Night 24 changed three times before settling on Nogueira. The four-time Division I All-American arrived on the UFC scene last year sporting a 4-0 record.
Starting with a unanimous decision win over Brian Stann, Davis has gone on to defeat Alexander Gustafsson via submission, Rodney Wallace via unanimous decision, and Tim Boetsch via second round submission, all inside the Octagon in 2010.
A win over a respected veteran like Nogueira would be a huge feather in Davis’ cap and move him one step closer to what seems an inevitable title shot. Many people think he may be the one to eventually usurp Jon Jones from his throne, especially if Rashad Evans can’t do it.

In addition to talking with Davis and looking at this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 24 card, the guys will recap UFC 128 and Jon Jones’ defeat of “Shogun” Rua to become the new light heavyweight champion.
