The Ultimate Fighting Championship held a media conference call Wednesday to help promote the upcoming “UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones” event, which will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Saturday, March 19, and will air live on Pay-Per-View.

Headliners Jon “Bones” Jones and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua answered questions surrounding their main event title fight and the significance the fight holds for them both.

Jones is the young phenom hotshot; one of the  most promising talents to hit the sport in a long time. Yet, he is facing a dangerous veteran who knows exactly what the rising star is going through.

“Shogun” experienced the same type of  hype back in 2005 when he won the Pride middleweight grand prix at only 23-years-old, the same age Jones is currently.

Tensions rose at a point toward the end of the call when a reporter asked Jones if he and his teammate Rashad Evans had started warming up to the idea of eventually fighting one another. Jones let the reporter know, in no uncertain terms, that this fight has nothing to do with Evans and he was sick of hearing those kind of questions.

Co-headliners Urijah “The California Kid” Faber and Eddie Wineland will be making their UFC debuts at UFC 128. The two bantamweights answered questions about how they match-up with one another and what sort of fight they are expecting on March 19.
