6:46 – Just getting settled in here in the Media Room.  By the way, Mike Menninger again… flexing my live blog muscles.  Not “Brain” Furby.  For the record, he’s been “Brain” at the Arnold Sports Festival the last 2 years.  Every time he thinks he has some juice in the industry, the good people at the Arnold are there to knock him down a peg.  Good times.

6:56 – My seat is better than Ju*kie, better than MMA W*ekly, better than Sh*rdog… suck it!

6:59 – Edited the above entry… don’t want to give anything to those guys.

7:02 – The refs are getting ready.  We’ve got Big John McCarthy, Dan Miragliotta, and… damn… Greg Franklin.  Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

7:05 – Fans starting to trickle in. Surprisingly, not a lot of promotion of the event around town this weekend.  I wonder what the paid attendance will be tonight.

7:08 – “Brain” gets to make his home tonight waaaaaaaaaaay back there.  It’s all coming up roses for yours truly.

7:09 – Also, the blonde Rockstar ring girl just came into the cage for a minute.  She’s lovely.  I’d totally start drinking that stuff if it didn’t taste like garbage.

7:11 – Security really flexing on the poor “paying” customers.  You better be in your own seats, mofos!

7:13 – Rockstar girls are doing laps in their sweats with simulated round cards.  Must be treacherous terrain to warrant a dress rehearsal.  Not that I mind, of course.

7:14 – By the way, check out the photo gallery “Brain” put together to see the blonde girl.  Total smokeshow.

7:19 – Usher’s “Yeah” playing on the sound system.  Umm, no?

7:24 – By the way, this is a great venue.  And I’m not just saying that because I’m sitting a few feet from the cage.

7:31 – We’ve officially been welcomed by the emcee.  Neat.

7:32 – Josh Barnett sighting.  Because there’s no way he’ll read this, I feel comfortable saying I thought he’d be bigger in person.

7:33 – Time to start the party… er… fights!

J.P. Felty vs. John Kuhner

Round 1 – Touch gloves and here we go.  Clinch against the cage.  Felty has Kuhner and drops for the single leg and gets it.  Kuhner working for the guillotine.  Kuhner walks up the cage and stands.  As they separate, both throw wildly and miss.  Felty drops for a single but can’t get it.  He spins to Kuhner’s back and drags him down.  Kuhnerrolls, and Felty looks to get a guillotine, but Kuhner stands quickly .  Good trade in the center of the cage.  Solid left hook from Felty.  Felty pushes in and clinches, pressing Kuhner against the cage.  Felty throwing some punches in the clinch.  They separate.  Left from Kuhner  finds a home, but big right misses as Felty ducks.  Circling.  Left and right from Kuhner.  They clinch again, and fall to the mat.  Felty on top in full guard.  Kuhner controlling posture.  As Felty postures, Kuhner throws some big punches from the bottom.  Still on the ground, not a lot of action going on.  Kuhner looking to isolate the right arm of Felty.  Felty still controlling from the top, but not scoring a lot.  Seems content to win the round on top.  Felty stands for a moment, but Kuhner drags him back to the mat. Felty has Kuhner pressed into the cage and throws some punches as the round ends.  10-9 for Felty in my eyes.

Round 2 – Felty with a leg kick to start the round.  They clinch, and Felty drags Kuhner down and ends up on his back.  Felty looks for the RNC, but switches to the guillotine.  He can’t cinch it up and ends up on his back, with Kuhner in his full guard.  Kuhner starts throwing some punches, and Felty rolls.  K takes his back and gets his hooks in.  Kuhner  looking for the RNC but can’t get it as Felty defends well.  Kuhner now raining down punches from the top.  Felty rolls, but the punches keep coming.  Felty rolls back to his stomach.  Kuhner looks for the RNC, but Felty rolls again, only to be hit with some big right hands.  Rolls back to his stomach.  Kuhner can’t seem to get the RNC, but Felty not putting up much of a fight now other than rolling over and over.  More GnP from Kuhner. After some more punches, Kuhner tries for the RnC again, but can’t get it again!  That’s OK… he’ll throw some more punches.  Now in mount, Kuhner drops some more punches.  He looks to transition to an armbar, but Felty switches position!  He’s still in danger of a triangle.  Looks like Kuhner has it!  Felty doesn’t tap.  He may have been asleep awhile, actually, as the ref steps in and stops the fight.

OFFICIAL RESULT: John Kuhmer defeats J.P. Felty by triangle at 4:31 of the 2nd round.

7:51 – Internet has gotten slow as hell.  Hilarious posts may be less frequent.  Sorry, gang.  Look at the pics of the Rockstar girls to muddle through.  I know you can do it.  That’s what she said.

Marc Cofer vs. Mitch Whitesel

Round 1 – Fighters touch gloves, and we’re under way.  Straight left from Cofer.  Leg kick from Whitesel to answer.  Circling.  Cofer kicks and drives in, pushing Whitesel against the cage.  Whitesel has the underhooks and spins Cofer into the cage.  Cofer pummels and returns the favor.  These guys are gonna get dizzy at this pace.  Cofer looks for the trip, but Whitesel’s on it.  Cofer has W pushed against the cage.  Whitesel spins out and they separate.  Combo from Whitesel, and he lands the body kick.  Leg kick from Cofer in return.  More circling.  1-2 kick combo from Whitesel.  The crowd urges the fighters to stop dancing.  Clever.  Right from Whitesel misses, and the clinch. Cofer presses Whitesel against the cage.  Some outside-in knees from Whitesel.  Some inside knees from Cofer.  W has the underhooks and spins.  But Cofer does the same now.  Round and round we go.  One more time, for good measure.  Looks like Cofer tries to pull guard, and Whitesel obliges.  Cofer controlling Whitesel’s body.  Whitesel leans on Cofer’s shoulders, and throws a knee to the shoulder (?) of Cofer.  Whitesel transitions and looks for a guillotine.  And he’s got it!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Mitch Whitesel defeats Marc Cofer via submission by guillotine at 3:55 of the 1st Round.

8:07 – We get treated to a GoDaddy.com commercial on the big screen.  With no hot chicks taking their clothes off!  Fail.

Ian Rammel vs. Brian Rogers

Round 1 – Touch gloves.  Inside kick from Rammel met with a big right hand from Rogers.  Rammel shoots for a double, but is stuffed easily.  Circling.  Straight left from Rogers finds a home on Rammel’s chin.  Another, and Rammel almost drops.  He recovers quickly and shoots for a takedown. Whiff on the attempt.  Now he lays on his back, hoping Rogers takes the bait.  No dice, and we reset.  Circling.  Another leg kick from Rammel and another big right from Rogers.  More circling. Rogers doing the stalking.  Leg kick from Rammel lands square.  Rogers with a 1-2 that hits Rammel flush in the face.  Rammel falls, but Rogers wants him back up.  Straight right from Rogers just out of reach.  Crowd telling Rammel to put “put your hands up, asshole!”  More circling.  Another 1-2 from Rogers.  A spinning push kick from Rammel doesn’t find its mark.  Rogers still stalking.  Inside leg kick from Rogers lands.  Spinning back fist from Rammel lands, but doesn’t phase Rogers, and Rogers lands another big right in return.  Big right from Rogers, following by a big knee.  Rammel looks like he wants to fall but doesn’t.  Tough kid!  Rammel bounces off the cage and they circle in the center again.  Another leg kick from Rammel.  Another right from Rogers lands and Rammel drops.  Rogers pounces from some GnP, and Rammel is barely hanging on.  He grabs a leg in desperation, but Rogers pulls it out of there.  Rogers pounces again for some vicious GnP.  Rammel covers up, and the ref stops the fight.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Brian Rogers defeats Ian Rammel by TKO (ref stoppage) at 4:23 of the 1st Round.

8:22 – “Brain” is still bitching about his media seat.  He’s whined his way into me agreeing to switch spots for the main card.  Something tells me I need to work on my negotiating skills.  Don’t tell anyone I’m an attorney in my day job.  Seriously.

8:25 – Big John is wearing a hoodie and a hat.  Maybe he’s not reffing tonight.  Call it a hunch.  Go ahead… I won’t mind.

8:30 – Cee Lo playing now.  You feel like you’re here now, don’t you?

8:32 – Quick fights mean longer breaks.  I can’t tell whether that’s a bad thing or a terrible thing.  Stupid live broadcasts.  But maybe you can catch me on Showtime later on.  I look great tonight, by the way.

Jason Freeman vs. Jason Riley

Round 1 – Touch gloves to start.  Leg kick from Freeman.  Teep from Freeman misses.  Jab from Riley lands.  Outside leg kick from Riley hits too.  Spinning back kick by Freeman misses.  Circling.  Inside right kick and outside left kick both land in sequence from Riley.  Riley lands a massive right hand that drops Freeman.  Riley jumps on him and lands some GnP.  Freeman covers up and is able to recover.  Freeman bucks, and Riley gets up and lets him stand.  As they re-engage, a straight left from Freeman knocks Riley on HIS ass this time, and Freeman is on him quick.  Freeman drops some GnP, with Riley against the cage.  Riley turns to his side, but the flurry from Freeman keeps coming.  The ref jumps in and calls it.  What a turnaround!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jason Freeman defeats Jason Riley via TKO (ref stoppage) at 1:52 of the 1st Round.

8:48 – Herschel Walker made his way to the Buckeye state!  Fantastic!

8:52 – Jorge rocking the pink briefs tonight.  Keep it in your pants, ladies!

Billy Vaughan vs. Jorge Gurgel

Round 1 – No touching gloves here.  Just fight, baby!  Gurgel throws a body kick to Vaughan’s right side that Vaughan catches.  Gurgel pulls his leg back and remains standing and closes the distance.  He clinches for a second and grabs Vaughan.  Gurgel looks for the guillotine while standing.  Looks like he’s got it, but Vaughan hangs in.  Gurgel then drops to guard and cranks hard on Vaughan’s neck.  Vaughan chooses to tap rather than fall asleep.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jorge Gurgel defeats Billy Vaughan via guillotine at 0:44 of the 1st round.

9:00 – Color me surprised that Gurgel scores a victory by submission.  Who knew he had it in him?!

9:02 – Whose leg do I have to hump to get some Drowning Pool up in hurrr?

9:03 – The Natural, Randy Couture is here… just wearing the sh** out of that scarf.  It never stood a chance.

9:05 – Finally, we’re getting introduced to the Rockstar girls.  I’m angry it took this long.  These are some good looking ladies.  And it’s hilarious how many bros around here have their iPhones out taking pics.  Classic!

9:06 – All that’s been playing for the last few minutes is the baseline to “Hypnotize.”  I want this to be my life’s soundtrack from now on.  Imagine me rolling into court with this playing behind me… how could I ever lose?

9:14 – All these 1st round stoppages are wreaking havoc on the timing of this thing.  Yikes!

9:22 – Bigfoot Silva and Josh Thomson just passed by.  This is fun!

Roger Bowling vs. Josh Thornburg

Round 1 – Bowling with a quick takedown tight out of the gate.  He stands up and Thornburg has a guillotine.  Bowling slams Thornburg, but Bowling still in danger of the guillotine.  Bowling finally pops his head out, and is in the Cesar Gracie fighter’s guard.  Scary place to be.  Bowling with some GnP has he moves to half guard.  Thornburg with his back against the cage, and Bowling still throwing short left hands to Thornburg’s face.  Thornburg scrambling to to get a better position, and he does and stands.  Bowling tags him with a big right that drop Thornburg, but he stands again quickly.  Now they circle, both guys breathing hard.  Body shot from Bowling lands.  They clinch against the cage, and Thornburg presses him against the cage.  Bowling, with his back against the cage, throws some knees.  And Bowling tags Thornburg with a punch as they separate.  Bowling lands a head kick that stuns Thornburg.  They trade lefts.  Bowling shoots in for a double and gets it.  Bowling standing over Thornburg in half guard.  Bowling with some more GnP.  Thornburg holding on for dear life.  Bowling follows Thornburg to the mat and throws some body shots, and a couple more to the face.  Those cannot feel good, boys and girls.  Bowling now in full guard.  He works to the mount and throws some big shots.  Thornburg rolls, and Bowling takes his back looking for the RnC.  Thornburg rolls again and survives, but is back in Bowling’s mount.  Thornburg works to half guard, and the round ends with Bowling in half guard.

Round 2 – They both throw right hands to start the round.  They clinch, and Bowling pushes Thornburg into the cage.  Thornburg drops to guard.  Bowling works to half guard, constantly looking to work some GnP.  Thornburg controlling Bowling’s head.  Bowling with an arm under Th’s neck, but he lets it go.  Bowling postures up, looking to pass.  he then drops back down, leaning on Thornburg, content to throw some short punches.  Thornburg may be waiting for something.  The action slows as the crowd begs for a stand up.  Miragliotta may oblige.  But Bowling keeps working.  Thornburg looks for the rubber guard, but Bowling postures up.  Bowling dropping some more GnP.  He’s doing a good job of controlling Thornburg’s position on the bottom, where you know he’s dangerous.  Thornburg works Bowling back into the full guard, but Bowling gets back to half easily.  Bowling keeping Thornburg against the cage on his back.  Bowling still working for position, but the action is slow enough that they are stood up.  Bowling misses with a left hook and they clinch.  Quick shot from Bowling as they separate.  Thornburg lands a right.  Bowling returns the favor.  Outside leg kick from Bowling finds a home.  They circle.  Bowling shoots in and they clinch.  Thornburg with the trip and Bowling on his back.  As Thornburg gets the mount, Bowling reverses and is now in Thornburg’s full guard.  The round ends that way.  Looks like 2 rounds for Bowling.

Round 3 – Right-left from Bowling.  Body kick from Bowling.  Another right-left from Bowling.  Thornburg can’t seem to find his range.  Body kick from Thornburg blocked.  Left hand to the face of Thornburg.  They clinch.  Thornburg gets the arm-over takedown.  Bowling tries to reverse and can’t.  Bowling somehow rolls and is now on top of Thornburg in side control.  Bowling looks to mount, with his knee on the belly.  As he makes the attempt, he ends up in half, then full guard.  Thornburg’s jits is at least good for defense so far.  Bowling with some light GnP.  He works back to half guard.  Bowling looking to drop some more punches down.  Action is a little slower.  Bowling now to side control, but then Thornburg quickly gets the full mount back.  Not too much offense this round.  Everyone tired?  Bowling transitions to half guard again, with only a few punches being thrown.  The crowd is getting restless.  Some more light GnP, and the boo-birds fly.  Now we get a stand-up from Miragliotta.  Head kick from Bowling just misses.  Right hand lands square to the jaw of Thornburg.  Bowling really pressing the action.  Bowling shoots in and grabs Thornburg, picks him up and slams him.   Thornburg looks for the guillotine on the way down.  Bowling in full guard, not tapping.  The round ends.  Another round for  Bowling, most likely.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Roger Bowling defeats Josh Thornburg via Unanimous Decision (30-27 x 3).

10:06 – Guess we’re live now.  I’ve taken my seat where “Brain” was sitting before.  This seat blows.  Guess I’ll be live-blogging from the big screen.  I feel cheap.

10:10 – They’ve got some serious pyrotechnics for the fighters’ walkouts.  That would scare the sh** out of me!

Billy Evangelista vs. Jorge Masvidal

Round 1 – Circling to start.  Evangelista with a left that misses.  Then he follows with a right that misses.  Evangelista’s leg kick misses too.  Jab from Masvidal.  Feeling each other out, I guess.  More circling.  A couple soft jabs from Masvidal.  Overhand right from Evangelista misses.  Let’s go, boys!  Boo birds flying alread.  Evangelista throws a body kick that Masvidal grabs and throws Evangelista down with.  Evangelista stands again quickly, but we’re in the clinch now.  Evangelista with Masvidal pressed against the cage.  A couple of knees from Evangelista.  Both guys pummeling for underhooks.  Some more knees from Evangelista.  Evangelista looks for a trip, but no dice.  They separate.  Masvidal misses with a 1-2.  Swooping left from Evangelista misses.  Masvidal jabs, closes the distance ,and lands a couple shots.  In a scramble as he presses forward, Evangelista is able to get Masvidal down to the mat, but Masvidal is holding onto a guillotine.  Evangelista surviving, and Masvidal lets it go.  He walks up the cage, Masvidal with underhooks still.  Some more knees from Evangelista.  A few more knees, but not a lot on them.  Masvidal grabs a thai clinch and throws a knee quickly, but misses.  They separate just as fast.  Evangelista slips a bit, but Masvidal can’t capitalize.  Jab from Masvidal.  More circling.  1-2 and a leg kick from Evangelista.  Only the kick lands.  Some more cautious punching, and Evangelista looks for a takedown that Masvidal stuffs as the round ends.

Round 2 – Both guys still cautious out of the gate here in round 2.  Evangelista’s leg kick misses.  They clinch, and Evangelista has Masvidal pressed against the cage.  Evangelista goes for the trip and sort of gets it, but Masvidal pops right back up.  Evangelista swings and misses, and they clinch again.  This time Masvidal has Evangelista against the cage.  Masvidal backs off, and they’re back in the center of the cage, not punching each other.  Evangelista tries a leg kick that Masvidal grabs and uses to drag Evangelista down.  Masvidal now in full guard.  He scrambles to pass, but Evangelista is up quickly.  Now we’re back to the not punching thing.  Jab from Masvidal lands.  Evangelista shoots for a double, but gives up quickly.  1-2 from Evangelista misses.  Punch to the body lands for Masvidal.  Evangelista throws some wild punches that Masvidal easily avoids.  And we’re circling again.  Yeehaw!  Evangelista throws a sloppy leg kick and follows it with a sloppy double leg attempt.  Both fail.  Evangelista throws another sloppy leg kick, and Masvidal takes the chance to land a solid right hand.  Evangelista shoots again, but Masvidal stuffs it easily.  Now Masvidal drops down for a single and gets it.  Evangelista grabs the fence on the way down, but M finishes the takedown.  M lets Evangelista stand again easily.  Now Masvidal gets a double and ends up in side control.  He then transitions and leans on Evangelista’s shoulders.  Evangelista stands again easily.  Masvidal hanging onto a double, but Evangelista defends.  And we separate.  And we’re not punching, and the crows boos.  Evangelista charges in, and Masvidal lands a stiff jab.  And another.  Leg kick from Evangelista lands on Masvidal’s knee.  Ouch for both guys there.  Round ends, and I have no idea who is winning.  Maybe Masvidal?

Round 3 – Too bad the 3rd round starts standing in the center of the cage.  And continues that way for 20 seconds or so.  In the words of Captain Jean Luc Picard… “Engage!”  11 minutes in, and we’re still in the feeling-out stage of the fight, apparently.  Jab from Masvidal.  Inside leg kick from Evangelista.  Left hand from Evangelista, and he follows with a takedown attempt that, predictably fails.  Evangelista presses Masvidal against the cage for a moment, but they quickly separate.  Know who’s not winning?  The fans.  Big right hand from Masvidal lands as Evangelista throws another sloppy leg kick.  But before it gets too fun, we’re back to circling in the center of the cage.  Brief exchange, and they clinch again.  Masvidal with Evangelista against the cage this time.  Evangelista pressing Masvidal’s head down.  Masvidal looks for the single.  He can’t get it, but transitions to Evangelista’s back for a second.  But we separate, and the fans are expressing their displeasure.  Can’t say I disagree, although I’d never boo someone with the balls to get in the cage.  I can type all this because there is little/no action going on.  Circling.  Missed punches.  Clinch and a knee from Masvidal, but they separate again.  Uppercut from Evangelista lands, but no follow up.  Evangelista pushes in, but Masvidal pushes him back.  A couple more exchanges where nothing lands.  Evangelista looks for a takedown at the 0:10 mark, and we end the fight in the clinch.  Yikes.  I have no idea who wins this bad (and I mean BAD) boy.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jorge Masvidal defeats Billy Evangelista via Unanimous Decision (30-27 x 3).

10:40 – Moving right into the next fight.  Took me a couple minutes to plug the guys’ names in there.  Not easy to type “Evangelista” and “Masvidal” over and over.  At least not for me.

Tim Kennedy vs. Melvin Manhoef

Round 1 – Manhoef shakes off the glove-touch to start things off.  Front kick from Manhoef misses.  Kennedy shoots for a double leg, then transitions to a single.  He’s holding onto it and pressing.  Manhoef grabs the cage for a sec and gets warned.  He then scrambles and gets his leg out.  Hmm.  Maybe a point for that one?  Clear advantage.  Now they’re circling .  Manhoef throws a big right that misses, and Kennedy shoots for a takedown.  That misses too.  Leg kick from Kennedy lands, but Manhoef hits him with a left hand.  Leg kick from Manhoef almost chops Kennedy right down.  Another stiff leg kick from Manhoef.  Kennedy shoots for a double, but Manhoef defends well. Kennedy transitions to his back and drags him down.  Kennedy on top on side control, Manhoef against the cage.  Kennedy gets the full mount, and Manhoef rolls.  Kennedy takes his back willingly and gets his hooks in.  Manhoef defends the RNC and rolls back to his back.  Kennedy throws some punches, and Manhoef rolls to his stomach aghain.  Kennedy looking for the RNC again, and this time he gets it in quickly.  Manhoef holds on for a few second, but then taps.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Tim Kennedy defeats Melvin Manhoef via rear naked choke at 3:41 of the 1st round.

10:50 – Tim Kennedy may be the most likeable guy in all of MMA.  Respectful of his opponent.  Respectful of the sport. Respectful of his employer.  Respectful of the fans.  Plus he’s a Green fu**ing Beret.

11:00 – It’s pronounced Mar-loooz Koooonen.  In case you didn’t know.

Marloes Coenen vs. Liz Carmouche

Round 1 – Coenen with a leg kick to start us off.  Some punches from both that can’t find a target.  Another outside leg kick form Coenen. Now an inside leg kick.  Circling.  Coenen using the jab to keep the distance.  Another inside leg kick from Coenen.  As Carmouche presses forward, she eats a solid right hand from Coenen.  Coenen with a significant reach advantage here.  A 1-2 from Coenen.  Circling.  We get some mysogynistic taunts from the crowd.  Stay classy, Columbus.  Both fighters seem cautious here.  Couple more inside leg kicks from Coenen.  Carmouche tries a leg kick, but gets a jab from Coenen.  Both throw as they get into the clinch.  Carmouche pressing Coenen against the cage.  Coenen pressing up on Carmouche’s face.  Weird.  Still in the clinch.  Coenen turns Carmouche into the cage.  And we turn back again.  And again.  Some heels to the back of the leg of Coenen.  And Carmouche throws some foot stomps that annoy Coenen.  The action is stalled, and the ref separates the fighters.  Coenen back to the well on the inside leg kicks.  Now a head kick that misses.  1-2 from Coenen misses.  Coenen still using the jab to keep the distance.  A left hand from Carmouche is blocked.   Coenen with a front kick to Carmouche’s midsection.  Coenen lands a stiff right just before the horn sounds. 10-9 Coenen.

Round 2 – Coenen with a leg kick.  Carmouche with a good body kick that lands.  Coenen feints a switch kick.  Interesting.  Coenen tossing the jab out there like she’s getting paid by the punch.  Carmouche throws some punches and charges in.  They clinch against the cage, and Coenen quickly turns her into the cage.  They’re still in the clinch, and Coenen goes for a thai clinch and throws a knee to the body that lands.  Coenen grabs a standing guillotine, and falls to the mat with it.  Carmouche able to get her head out.  Now Carmouche in Coenen’s full guard.  It’s a struggle for position and control now, and very little offense from either fighter.  Carmouche stands momentarily and eats an upkick.  She drops a punch to Coenen in return.  Back down into full guard.  Carmouche stands again, and gets into side control, now north-south.  Carmouche throwing knees to Coenen’s right shoulder.  Carmouche happy to keep doing this.  Coenen looks to roll over and try to take the back of Carmouche from underneath.  Almost gets it!  Carmouche back on top.  Coenen looks for a leg lock but can’t get it, as Carmouche pulls her foot out.  Carmouche now in the mount throwing some GnP.  Coenen covering up, trying to use her long legs to throw Carmouche back.  Carmouche still in mount, throwing punches.  Coenen defending, but it’s all Carmouche right now.  Coenen tries to use her legs to get Carmouche again, but misses.  Carmouche with GnP as the rounds ends.  10-9 Carmouche.

Round 3 – Coenen back to the jab.  Carmouche throws some punches on the way in, and they clinch against the cage.  Some foot stomps from Carmouche again.  Coenen turns Carmouche into the cage and throws a knee.  Carmouche turns Coenen right back in.  Coenen turns Carmouche one more time and throws a short elbow.  Carmouche turns Coenen right back.  She throws some knees and foot stomps.  Coenen throws a knee.  The women keep jockeying for position.  Coenen with the underhooks.  The come away from the cage for a moment.  Now Coenen pressing Carmouche against the cage and lands a couple good knees.  Carmouche turns Coenen right back.  And Coenen turns Carmouche right back!  I’m getting dizzy.  Carmouche able to spin Coenen down to the mat.  Carmouche ins side control.  Carmouche then works to the mount again.  Coenen’s letting that happen a bit too easy.  Carmouche looking to throw some GnP.  Coenen covering up, but can’t seem to shake Carmouche.  Carmouche still in mount, throwing punches.  Nothing getting cleanly through though.  Coenen throws her legs up again, trying to shake Carmouche, but it ain’t happening.  Some more GnP, as Coenen’s head is near the cage.  More GnP from Carmouche to end the round.  Still nothing landing squarely.  10-9 Carmouche.

Round 4 – Coenen throws a right, and follows it up with an inside leg kick.  Coenen now drives in and is able to get Carmouche down.  Now Coenen in Carmouche’s full guard.  Carmouche tries for a triangle, but Coenen doesn’t allow it.  Coenen gives Carmouche an inch to get up, and she takes it.  As she gets up, Coenen looks to grab her neck.  Coenen has a hold of Carmouche, and falls to her back.  Coenen able to wrap up Carmouche with her long legs.  She works Carmouche’s arm through, and is able to get her other leg up.  She’s got the triangle! Carmouche taps!  Wow! I’m overusing exclamation points!!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Marloes Coenen defeats Liz Carmouche via triangle at 1:29 of the 4th round.

11:29 – This is your last time-stamp update.  Soak it in.

11:44 – Okay, one more… there are a bunch of rednecks boo-ing Feijao.  A**holes.

Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs. Dan Henderson

Round 1 – Touch gloves to start things off.  Crowd chanting, “Hendo!”  Good outside leg kick from Feijao.  Both guys cautious so far.  Henderson winding up with the right hand, as usual.  Circling.  Another outside leg kick from Feijao .  Henderson pushes forward and lands aright.  Feijao recovers and lands a big right of his own that stumbles Henderson.  Feijao jumps on him, but Henderson stands, and is able to take Feijao down.  Henderson now in Feijao’s full guard.  Feijao defending.  Henderson not a lot of offense here.  The ref encourages both guys to work.  Still in full guard.  No action on the ground though.  A stand-up may be appropriate here.  And we have it.  Henderson cocking the right hand again.  He throws it, and it lands, just not flush.  They clinch against the cage.  Henderson with one underhook.  Feijao defending against the knees.  Henderson reaches for a single, but doesn’t seem committed to it.  A knee from Henderson to the leg of Feijao.  Feijao turns Henderson into the cage, but Henderson does the same right back.  Miragliotta separates them and they reset in the middle.  The horn sounds.  10-9 Henderson, I think.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Henderson lands to the lead leg of Feijao.  Henderson winds up and throws some haymakers.  None land flush.  He keeps throwing, and Feijao almost able to get Henderson off balance to take him down.  Henderson quickly regains his balance, and he presses Feijao against the cafe in the clinch.  Henderson throwing some knees to the midsection of Feijao.  Henderson looks for the single again, this time more committed.  Feijao defends well, and Henderson leaves it be for now.  Feijao presses forward and looks for a takedown.  Feijao tries to trip Henderson, but Henderson able to use it against him, and falls on top of Feijao, in his half guard.  Henderson throwing a few punches, but works to side control.  Feijao scrambles, and in the mix gets Henderson on his back!  Feijao now in full guard.  Henderson controlling the posture of Feijao for the moment.  Henderson holding on tightly to the left shoulder of Feijao to prevent him from posturing up.  The crowd wants a reset, and they get it.  Back to the middle of the cage.  Henderson itching to throw the right.  Feijao with a looping right, then left that both miss.  Henderson with a superman punch that grazes Feijao.  Leg kick from Henderson to the lead leg of Feijao again.  Henderson pushes forward and clinches with Feijao.  Henderson able to charge forward and get Feijao to the mat, with Henderson in half guard.  Tough round to score.  Probably 10-9 Henderson again, but easily could be (should be?) a 10-10.

Round 3 – The guys touch gloves to start the round.  Leg kick from Feijao lands.  Henderson throws a right that just misses.  Henderson throws another right that lands.  Back to the center of the cage, and Henderson lands a big right hand that drops Feijao.  Henderson jumps on Feijao’s back and throws some more big right hands.  Feijao can’t do anything but cover up.  He’s hurt.  Miragliotta jumps in to save him.  Once again, we have a new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champ!
