This year Showtime will air four M-1 Challenge events. The premium cable network will begin broadcasting the M-1 Global product of March 25.

Sherdog.com reported the news citing “a source close to the situation.” M-1 Challenge 24 takes place at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va., on March 25.

Showtime entered the MMA business in 2007 when it broadcast Elite XC Destiny. After the fall of Elite XC, the television network began working with Strikeforce. M-1 Global is an MMA promotion and management group led by president Vadim Finkelstein and part-owner Fedor Emelianenko.

The M-1 Challenge began as a team-based competition, pitting national teams against one another. However, starting with the 2010 season, the events began to focus more on individual fighters. The 2011 season is set to begin on March 5 in Moscow, Russia.

In the main event of M-1 Challenge 24, Artiom Damkovsky will defend his lightweight title against Jose Figueroa. In his last fight, the Belarusian defeated Maribek Taisumov to win the title.
