Jeremy Jackson gets the win over Nick Diaz at Ultimate Athlete 4 in Sept. 2002.

No one has ever submitted Nick Diaz (24-7, 1 NC) in a pro MMA fight. All of Nick’s pro MMA losses have come via decision, except for two, a doctor stoppage against K.J. Noons (10-3) at “Elite XC: Renegade” in Jan. 2007 and a TKO due to punches against Jeremy Jackson (9-5) at “Ultimate Athlete 4: King of the Mountain” way back in 2002.

The loss to Jackson was Nick’s first professional loss, and it should be noted that Nick got revenge against Jackson a year later via first round TKO at “International Fight Challenge WC 18: Big Valley Brawl” in July 2003, and then again via third round armbar just two months later at UFC 44.

As evidenced by Nick’s performance against Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos (18-14) this past weekend, his boxing, and in fact his whole game, has improved leaps and bounds since 2002.

But the fact remains, no one before or since has been able to repeat what Jeremy Jackson did to Nick Diaz in their first fight, not even Jackson himself. However, Jackson still holds the honor of being the only fighter to ever really penetrate Nick’s nearly indomitable chin.

If you have never seen “Nick Diaz vs. Jeremy Jackson I”, we have dug deep into the MMA archives, pulled it out and dusted it off for your viewing pleasure. — On a side note, Jackson’s last fight was in March 2007.

  1. Jackson had some promise back then. Diaz ate about 8 straight flush shots to the face/chin on the ground, and still didn’t get knocked out.

  2. It’s a bit hard to tell if he ever went out but he was definitely done. He could barely stand even with help.If that ref didn’t save him it would have been very bad very quick.

  3. Oh I’m not saying he wasn’t done. The fight actually could’ve been called a tiny bit earlier. Definately the correct call.

Jack you got any info on what happened with Jackson’s criminal case?
