Melvin Guillard has won 5 of his last 6 in the Octagon, including 3 straight, and believes that he is the best fighter in the UFC at 155 lbs. He also believes that 2011 will be his year to get a shot at UFC gold in the lightweight division.

He will have the chance to prove it, stepping in for Kenny Florian to face rising star Evan Dunham as the main event of the UFC’s “Fight for the Troops 2” card on Jan. 22.

Guillard (26-8-2-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC) recently talked with The MMA Digest about his bout with Dunham, training at Jackson’s MMA, and his renewed focus on being the best fighter in the world.
