The highly anticipated and much debated The Ultimate Fighter season 13 coaches were revealed by UFC President Dana White on Tuesday’s UFC Fight for the Troops 2 media conference call. ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) was present on the call.

Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos will be the coaches for season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.

Although tryouts for The Ultimate Fighter 13 were for both middleweight (185 lbs.) and welterweight (170 lbs.) fighters, it has now been confirmed by White the show is going to only feature welterweights.

White said there will be no format changes for season 13.

White was questioned by esteemed MMA reporter Ariel Helwani about Lesnar’s qualifications and whether he deserved to be a coach considering he is still relatively young in his MMA career. “That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard you say,” said White. “The man is a former heavyweight champion.”

The Ultimate Fighter season 13 is expected to debut March 30 on Spike TV. Following the 11 regular episodes, two welterweight finalists will emerge to compete at the TUF 13 Finale for a six-figure contract with the UFC. The TUF 13 Finale is expected to take place June 4, 2011 at the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas.

Lesnar and dos Santos will fight each other on the June Pay-Per-View just after the TUF 13 Finale, according to White. “It will 100% happen on the June Pay-Per-View,” said White.

“Who knows what the numbers could be this season?” said White. “It’s the best night of television. … I think this show is just going to grow and grow and grow forever. … This is going to be an interesting season in many ways. Brock is not exactly a happy-go-lucky guy.”
