Jeremy Boczulak will be fighting on the preliminary card at the Strikeforce Challengers 13 event this Friday, Jan. 7, in Nashville, and fighting on the main card, is a man that Boczulak fought in his last fight – Dr. Rhadi Ferguson.

That in itself is not uncommon, but what is extraordinary about the fight between Boczulak and Ferguson was the circumstances that brought them together. At Gameness Fighting Championships 8 this past October, both fighters found themselves without opponents at the very last minute. Instead of losing two fights from the card, Boczulak agreed to face off against Ferguson, giving up over 40 pounds in the process.

For Boczulak, it was a no-brainer to step up for that fight despite the weight disadvantage, and although he lost by (T)KO in the first round, it’s that type of courage that makes Boczulak a dangerous opponent for anybody at his natural weight class of welterweight.

Boczulak took some time out to speak with ProMMAnow.com about that fight against Dr. Rhadi Ferguson, and his debut for Strikeforce:
