On Dec. 31 Pride legend and Japanese MMA superstar Kazushi Sakuraba had a bit of an incident during his DREAM welterweight title fight with Marius Zaromskis at Dynamite!! 2010 in Saitama, Japan. The bout was called to a halt at 2:16 of the first round because Sakuraba’s right ear, which had bad cauliflower, got ripped off his head as he shot in for a takedown.
According to post-fight reports, Sakuraba went through a successful surgery and the ear has been re-attached. But at least we got this cool photo out of it.
