Dustin Ortiz will put his perfect 6-0 record on the line with his second appearance under the Strikeforce banner this Friday at Strikeforce Challengers 13.

When the cage door closes, he will find himself staring across the cage at his much more experienced opponent, Matt Horning, who has 43 professional MMA bouts under his belt. The experience really doesn’t faze Ortiz, who sees the challenge for what it truly is – a chance to see how all of Horning’s experience stacks up against his well-rounded skills.

Ortiz won his debut at Strikeforce last April by way of a first round submission over Justin Pennington at “Strikeforce: Nashville.” The quick finish came as no surprise for those that know Ortiz, who was dubbed “Mini Ben Askren” by Dave Meltzer at the event.

Ortiz has finished all 6 of his victories by either (T)KO or submission, and is looking to continue that streak this Friday at Strikeforce Challengers 13.

ProMMAnow’s Denny “The Mad One” Hodge sat down with Ortiz to talk about the fight, and his aspirations for 2011 and beyond:
