Bellator Fighting Championships has added Sam Alvey (14-2) to its middleweight roster, according to Alvey’s agent, Nick Thompson.

Alvey last fought on Nov. 24, beating Jason Guida by split decision at North American Fighting Championship, the promotion run by former kickboxer and top MMA trainer Duke Roufus. Roufus actually singled out Alvey as a fighter for fans to keep an eye on prior to the event in exclusive interview with ProMMAnow.com.

Alvey’s only two losses have come via decision against Gerald Meerschaert and Caleb Nelson. Throughout his career, he has competed as low as middleweight and as high as heavyweight.

In Bellator, Alvey will join a division that includes champion Hector Lombard and WEC veterans Eric Schambari and Bryan Baker.

  1. “Smile’n Sam” had some very tough fights in Wisconsin and abroad and we hope it will be enough good experience to start a long and respectable career within the Bellator Oragnization. He now trains out of Team Quest and is excited to “get-er done”!
