The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 finalist and grappling expert Vinny Magalhaes (5-5) will be in a feature bout at a Jan. 29 MMA Xplosion event in Las Vegas, which will use an international team challenge format, with the U.S. vs. Brazil and Mexico vs. Kazakhstan.
Magalhaes will fight undefeated prospect Damien Knight (3-0) in the co-main event. Magalhaes has won three of his last four fights since his release from the UFC, recently defeating Alihan Magomedov (4-2) by first round submission at M-1 Challenge 22 on Dec. 10.
The main event will pit International Fight League veteran Bristol Marunde (12-6) Wand Fight Team member Vitor Vianna (10-1-1), who has picked up wins in his two MMA Xplosion appearances.
Team USA will also include Chidi Njokuani (4-1), the brother of WEC veteran Anthony Njokuani.
