Headlined by the person UFC President Dana White calls “the most famous athlete to ever come out of Canada,” White said on Tuesday that Saturday’s “UFC 124: St-Pierre vs. Koscheck” in Montreal will break the North American attendance record as well as the world live gate record for mixed martial arts.

White expects the UFC 124 live gate at the Bell Centre to exceed $5 million and expects more than 23,000 fans to attend the fights headlined by The Ultimate Fighter season 12 coaches, Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck, who will be competing for the UFC welterweight title.

The UFC also announced earlier today that they will hold their first-ever event in Ontario, at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, on April 30, 2011. White expects that event, which will be UFC 131, to be even bigger and break attendance and live gate records once again.

Hearing White predict UFC 131 to be even bigger than UFC 124, one can only imagine what they have in store for that card. It will coincide with a two-day UFC Fan Expo on April 29-30, but no doubt they are going to also put together a special card for Canada’s largest city.
