Photo of the day – Ryan McGillivray’s ear

I’ve seen a lot of fighter injury photos over the years, but once in a while you see one that just makes you say, “WTF”. There have been quite a few photos of cauliflower ear going around over the years, but I have never seen anything like this.

The fighter is Canadian Ryan McGillivray and apparently this came about from just one fight (MFC 14). In fact when I asked him what caused it he said, “All it takes is one big punch.” And half-jokingly I also asked him if he can still hear and he said, “I can hear pretty well just a little hearing loss. Haha but part of the job.”

Not part of my job thank goodness. Anyway, Ryan just made it through the TUF 13 tryouts, so there is a chance  you could see him on the next Ultimate Fighter series.
