WEC lightweight contender Donald Cerrone reportedly got into a physical altercation backstage at a local MMA show on Oct. 30 in Clovis, N.M., according to the Na Koa MMA Podcast.

The report says that Cerrone and Marcus Sursa, who was scheduled to fight in the main event of the show — Evolution Combat Sports — had a war of words turn into an exchange of punches thanks to a dispute over a female dating Cerrone who used to date Sursa. Because of the scuffle, Sursa was injured and forced to pull out of his fight.

Cerrone is scheduled to face Chris Horodecki at WEC 53 on Dec. 16. in Glenndale, Ariz., the last show before the WEC’s roster merges into the UFC.
