The highly anticipated bout between UFC light heavyweight stars Ryan “Darth” Bader (12-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Jon “Bones” Jones (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) has been confirmed for UFC 126, which is scheduled for Feb.5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

The fight was confirmed for UFC 126 on this week’s “The Ultimate Insider”, an online-only UFC news program which broadcasts on UFC.com. We reported on Wednesday the fight was confirmed, but only now do we know for which event.

The undefeated Bader has been on a tear since he won the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” in December 2008. The former Arizona State wrestler holds UFC wins over Vinny Magalhaes, Carmello Marrero, Eric Schafer, Keith Jardine and most recently, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

“Bones” Jones is viewed by many as the most talented up-and-coming fighter in the UFC today. His UFC wins include Andre Gusmao, Stephan Bonnar, Jake O’Brien, Matt Hamill, Brandon Vera and most recently, Vladimir Matyushenko.

  1. Going to be interesting. Bader can maybe counter Jones wrestling, but Jones I think is better in the clinch. If it comes down to striking, I think Jones takes it.

  2. I think baderr is stronger then jones. I wrestled with bader on team Nevada freestyle team when we where kids in Reno. Bader is one of the most athletic people in the 205 class. Iam not saying that jones is not just as athletic I just don’t think he is as strong and if Ryan can pull a GSP and take him down and ground and pound agents that cage For 3 rounds I think he will where jones out and take the win. But jones is for sure a dangers fighter who can end things quickly I just think it won’t happen tonight! I guess we will see. Ps iam a coast to coast insider love gorge norey and all his strange and unusual topics not to mention art bell somewhere in time. Go Coast to Coast fans!
