In just seven fights Brock Lesnar won the UFC heavyweight title, defended it twice successfully, then lost it to Cain Velasquez this past Saturday night at UFC 121. The big man’s size and strength combined with his athleticism and strong wrestling base gave him a distinct advantage over most of his competitors and carried him through a lot. However, Velasquez’s boxing, speed, conditioning and wrestling comparable to Lesnar’s was too much for the behemoth. Styles make fights, but so does skill, and Velasquez had more of that Saturday night.
