UFC middleweight fighter Chris “The Crippler” Leben is lucky he is not the one crippled after reportedly crashing his truck into a wall on the H1 Freeway in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Tuesday.

According to a report on HawaiiNewsNow.com, Leben was placed under arrest after the accident on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant. He was later released from jail after posting $1,000 bail and has a court date set for November 22.

Originally from Portland, Ore., Leben moved to Oahu in 2007 to serve as head coach at Icon Fitness. In early 2010, he opened Chris Leben’s Ultimate Fight School, also in Oahu.

Currently on a three fight win-streak, Leben’s last Octagon appearance was at UFC 116 in July when he defeated Yoshihiro Akiyama with a Triangle Choke submission with just 1:20 left in the fight.

  1. I agree…I think sometimes when people cash in ($$$) like he did, (made $300K – $400K or so in less then 2 months) it is easy to fall off the wagon? Same thing when life is not so good too…
