The Human Cock Fighter blog – I fight at Bellator 26 Thursday night

The Human Cock Fighter, Brian Imes will take on John Ott on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Bellator 26 in Kansas City.

Here we go again. Tomorrow marks the biggest public moment of my entire life. I will be trading shots in a round cage in front of over 3000 people. This spectacle will take place in my hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. Amongst the large group of viewers will be over 100 of my friends and family members.

I am talking about Bellator Fighting Championships 26 at the Kansas City Power & Light District.

I actually tend bar weekends at one of the nightclubs in the district, PBR Big Sky. But on this night I will be engaging in a rematch with John Ott. John handed me my first professional loss in April of ’09. He choked me unconscious in under a minute and a half at a show in Oklahoma City. It was an enlightening dream.

I have gotten big opportunities in this sport prior to this one, but this is definitely the biggest. Bellator is a fast growing production with brilliant leadership and a unique format. Bellator’s tournament style format has produced some interesting match-ups and thus spectacular contests..

I sat down for an interview with commentators Jimmy Smith and Sean Wheelock yesterday afternoon. They of course wanted to talk about my brother, Brad, but saved some of the interview for questions about myself. I have learned to expect and accept this over the course of my young career and until I make good on one of my big opportunities I can expect more of the same.

I got involved with this sport to answer some questions I had about myself and to push my discipline to uncharted depths. I have had some varied success, but I wouldn’t put a price on the stories and experiences. Who are we anyway if we aren’t living full out? Life and happiness are too precious to limit yourself based on others’ fears. You’ve got to have your own rules and be your own shrink.

Weigh-ins are this afternoon and I have six pounds to shed. I don’t foresee a problem, but I’ve done this now 10 times. Funny what you can get used to. Check out the weigh-ins tonight at 8:00 pm CT on www.bellator.com or watch the fights tomorrow night on FoxSportsNet. No guarantee that my fight will be broadcast, but I’ll do my best to make it tv worthy.

THUMP A STRANGER!
