Longtime MMA veteran Gilbert Yvel will step in for an injured Todd Duffee to square off against The Ultimate Fighter season 10 contestant Jon Madsen at UFC 121 on Oct. 23 in Anaheim, Calif., according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Yvel (36-15-1) is coming off of a June 12 loss to Ben Rothwell at UFC 115. Yvel, a former PRIDE standout, dominated the stand-up action but couldn’t overcome his grappling shortcomings or Rothwell’s takedowns en route to a unanimous decision loss.

Against Madsen (6-0), Yvel will again likely have a significant advantage on the feet but an even tougher time keeping the fight there. Madsen wrestled at the collegiate level at South Dakota State University, earning All America honors three times and once finishing as a Division II national runner up.

According to MMAJunkie, Duffee (6-1) had to pull out of the bout due to a knee injury.
