“Kentucky’s oldest and original MMA company presents KYFC 65 at the Somerset Center for Rural Development this Saturday. In addition to fights fans will be treated to the 2nd Annual Kentucky Mixed Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductions.”
“Fight fans will witness over 13 amateur MMA and grappling matches; plus Pro MMA fight rematch between Jerry Burns and Mike “Lonewolf” Walbright.
Kentucky Fighting Challenge had this to add, “Fans will be a blast. Burns and Walbright fought many years ago with Burns winning. This marks the return of Walbright to the MMA ring and since both fighters know each other so well; this should make for some hard hits and slams!”
“For those who are unfamiliar with MMA; there are 3 three minute rounds with a one minute rest period in between. Fighters test their skills under the careful supervision of a trained referee and the Kentucky Boxing & Wrestling Authority. Matches are judged based on aggressiveness, control, and damage. There are many popular MMA shows on TV now including: the UFC, Ultimate Fighter, WEC, Strikeforce, many others.”
“Plus fans will see our second class of MMA Hall of Fame Inductees. Last year’s class included some of the top names in the MMA world, such as: Carlson Gracie Sr., Carlson Gracie Jr., Mike O’Donnell, CJ McVey, Bob Stines, and Jerry Burns to name a few. This year we want to continue to recognize people who have helped promote the sport of Mixed Martial Arts here in Kentucky.”
Tickets are still available to the show. General admission is just $20, Ringside $25, and VIP tables (seat 6) just $150. To purchase tickets contact the Kentucky Fighting Challenge at 859-948-5577, (KWBA-M-4312) or visit www.kyfight.com.
