MMARising.com has reported that Strikeforce has made some changes to the rules for their 135-pound women’s tournament. The tournament will be a part of Strikeforce Challengers 10. The card takes place this Friday at Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz. The main card will be broadcast live on Showtime.

Both the semifinals and finals of the tournament will take place on Friday. Now, the first round fights will be two three-minute rounds. The final fight will be three three-minute rounds. Originally, all fights were to be three three-minute rounds, with the possible addition of a sudden-death round in the final. However, according to MMARising, now that is not the case.

The four participants in the tournament are Miesha Tate, Carina Damm, Hitomi Akano and Meiju Kujala. The match ups will be determined randomly following the Thursday night weigh in. The winner of the tournament will become 135-pound champion Sarah Kaufman’s next challenger following Marloes Coenen.

Headlining Strikeforce Challengers 10 will be a catchweight fight between UFC veteran Joe Riggs and Louis Taylor. Ryan Couture, the son of UFC legend Randy Couture, will also make his professional debut against Lucas Stark.
