Multiple media sources have asserted that former Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier’s next fight will come when Strikeforce visits Houston. The card will take place Aug. 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

The fight has not been announced by the promotion. Cormier was rumored to participate at Strikeforce Challengers 10, which will happen on Aug. 13. However, it has been confirmed that Cormier will not compete on that card.

Last weekend, Cormier picked up his third professional win. He took a first-round TKO victory over Lucas Browne XMMA 2. Prior to that victory, the wrestler had picked up back-to-back knockouts under the Strikeforce banner. He finished John Devine in March and Gary Frazier last September.

Mainstream MMA fans were introduced to Riley when he fought former UFC champion Tim Sylvia at Adrenaline 4 last September. Sylvia won the must-win fight halfway through the first round. Since that fight, Riley has gone 1-1. He scored a knockout win over Joel Wyatt. However, in his last fight, IFL veteran Devin Cole finished Riley with punches only 14 seconds into the fight.

A pair of title fights headlines Strikeforce’s Houston card. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will defend his light heavyweight title for the first time when he meets Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Tim Kenndey will also face off with the vacant middleweight championship on the line.
