Aleksander Emelianenko is still among the top heavyweights in the world. Fans would love to see him fight legitimate competition.

KSW Federation informs ProMMAnow.com that KSW owners Maciej Kawulski and Martin Lewandowski invited former Pride FC heavyweight Aleksander Emelianenko to Warsaw to discuss his participation in an upcoming KSW event.

There is a possibility Emelianenko could face five-time World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski, who made the transition to professional MMA competition in 2009. Pudzianowski currently holds a pro record of 2-1.

After recently making some dispariging remarks about the strong man, Eric Esch, a.k.a. “Butterbean“, has also been named as a possible next opponent for Pudzianowski as well.

Reports of Emelianenko’s meeting with KSW officials were described as “serious and substantial, but also not without smiles and laughter”.

Regarding the outcome of their talks with Emelianenko, Lewandowski and Kawulsk announced,

“We have a verbal agreement in place with Aleksander and we can reveal that Polish MMA fans will be soon able to see this formidable fighter on the KSW ring.”

An opponent for Emelianenko has not been officially named, but could possibly be announced at the KSW press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 3, that will be shown on their website (www.konfrontacja.com).

If KSW is smart, they will have Pudzianowski fight Butterbean. Although he is not an absolute can for the strong man, “Pudz” does have a much better chance defeating the “Stay Puff Marshmallow Man” than Emelianenko, who is still considered one of the top heavyweights in the world.

Considering how easily Tim Sylvia exposed and disposed of the strong man, Aleksander Emelianenko would likely give Pudzianowski such a beating it would cause the Pole to return to a sport that doesn’t involve heavy objects hitting back.

ProMMAnow.com has confirmed with Emelianenko’s people that a fight against Pudzianowski is possible but no agreement was currently in place.

“KSW 14: Judgment Day” is scheduled to take place on Sept.18, 2010, at Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland.
