Josh Koscheck (15-4), number one UFC welterweight (170 lbs.) contender, has confirmed his title fight against champion Georges St-Pierre (20-2) will take place on Dec. 11, 2010. Koscheck made the announcement late last evening on his Twitter account (@JoshKoscheck):

Koscheck has gone 6-2 since he lost a five-round unanimous decision to St-Pierre at “UFC 74: Respect” in Aug. 2007. Kos is currently on a three-fight win streak, knocking out Frank Trigg at UFC 103, submitting Anthony Johnson at UFC 106, and most recently winning a unanimous decision over Paul Daley at UFC 113 in May.

Undefeated in over three years, St-Pierre has won six straight since his first bout with Koscheck. His most recent victory was a unanimous decision over Dan Hardy at UFC 111 in April.

Prior to their rematch in the Octagon, Koscheck and St-Pierre will first battle it out as opposing coaches on Season 12 of the long-running UFC reality show “The Ultimate Fighter“, which debuts Sept. 15 on Spike TV.

With UFC 122 tentatively scheduled for Nov. 13 in Germany and the TUF 12 Finale planned for Dec. 4, Koscheck vs. St-Pierre will most likely headline UFC 123.
