The ever bubbly and energetic Karyn Bryant talks with former UFC light heavyweight champion “Suga” Rashad Evans about getting his shot at Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the title and his recent victory over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson that put him back in the number one contender spot.
Evans feels Lyoto Machida should have to win a fight before he gets another shot at the title, and says he is not in favor of the UFC implementing an interim title while Shogun recovers from injury.
Evans suggests Machida could fight Rampage or Rogerio Nogueira next, since they are both coming off losses. Evans is content with waiting until Shogun heals to fight him and sees no point in taking a fight before he gets his title shot. Shogun is expected to return to competition sometime around the Spring of 2011.
