LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Renato “Babalu” Sobral took on Robbie Lawler in the “Strikeforce: Los Angeles” main event Wednesday, June 16, at the Nokia Theatre in L.A.
As always, the heavy-handed brawler Lawler threw big punches and was looking for the knockout. Sobral used his wrestling, leg kicks, and boxing and was able to stay away from Lawler’s knockout shot.
Each round was fairly close and in the end Sobral appeared to have taken the most damage. However, the judges thought he still did enough to get the unanimous decision by winning two of the three rounds.
