Professional boxer James Toney talks about his scheduled Aug. 28 bout with MMA legend Randy Couture at UFC 118 in Boston. Toney says Couture has signed his fight contract, but he is still negotiating. Let’s just hope Toney doesn’t back out once reality sets in.

So is Toney ready to become the next great MMA champion? No. He explains his purpose:

“I wouldn’t be doing this if Dana White hadn’t opened his mouth saying, ‘MMA fighters is better than boxing,’ which is bullshit. Everybody knows we’ve been around a lot longer than MMA has.”

Toney goes on to say Couture is only a legend in MMA and not on the same level. He also says he originally wanted Brock Lesnar but he was injured at the time.
